Rowan
Right as I sit down in my office I have a horrible gut feeling.
‘ROWAN!’
‘What?’
‘Check on Amaryllis! I have a horrible feeling.’
As soon as Bruce says her name, my heart sinks. I feel her, but she’s distant. I dash out of my office quicker than I have ever ran before.
I Run up the stairs skipping three at a time and open our bedroom door. The smell Of blood is overwhelming.
I see the bathroom door and run into it with all my force. The door tears off its hinges and breaks the mirror above the sink.
I see my mate.
She is covered in blood.
I fall on my knees near the tub and cry. Grabbing her lifeless body out of the tub, I sat her on my lap. Burying My nose in her hair, I rock back and forth.
Please Moon goddess, don’t do this to me.
I am still crying when all the sudden I feel tingles all over her skin. Lifting my head to look at her, I see the cuts on her wrist glow with a bright gold color.
Still holding her tight, all I can do is stare at the glowing light coming from her.
Amaryllis pov
I’m awake? I remember exactly what happened. How can I be awake?
I then notice my surroundings. I am not in the bathroom.
I am in a beautiful forest. The trees have brown and gold bark. The trees remind me of River.
I hear a low growl and turn around. I see my Wolf. River is right in front of me.
She howls. I can no longer hear her in my mind. We are no longer connected. I start to tear up again. Gosh I hate crying.
River wipes my tears away with her huge snout. She is cold.
“I am so sorry River, I didn’t know what else to do. I was in too much pain.”
I can see a sad look in her eyes. The look that says she wants to help but doesn’t know how.
I reached out for her. She laid down and I sat by her paw.
I was still sad, but sitting next to my River made me feel warm.
“River, you are kind of like a more badass Clifford,” I said with a giggle through my muffled tears.
She looked at me and nudged me with the side of her cheeks. Her fur felt so soft. She truly was a beautiful creature.
“You both belong together”
I jump at the sound of a feminine voice.
“Who was that?” I whisper to River.
The huge dog then stood tall and bowed her head. I did the same to not seem rude to the voice.
“Tell me dear, do you regret your decision?”
I look up and see a beautiful woman with pale skin, blue eyes like a healthy stream, red hair like fire, a body to die for, and a gold crown that looks like vines with leaves.
