Amaryllis

I stood in the center of the room. My body is still cold from the absence of the hot water. So I put on the clothes that had been laid out for me. My head felt heavy and I wanted to sleep. Then I noticed a faint smell I couldn’t quite make out yet. I suddenly got a burst of energy. I could feel River slowly coming back to me. Even I know that it should take at least a week for a very strong alpha to recover from wolfsbane. I am weak and have had wolfsbane in my system for years. How is my wolf coming back to me so soon? I finished getting dressed just in time as May knocked and opened the door. She carried a tray full of fruits, oatmeal, and a cup of juice and water. My mouth watered at the sight.

“Do you want to watch a movie with me?”

May seemed happier than before. She picked up two remotes and sat down on the couch with me.

“I haven’t watched a movie since I was 10! Can we watch a cartoon?”

She nodded and pushed a button on the smaller remote.

The fireplace in front of us started to make a quiet sound as a huge flat screen T.V. appears slowly from the top. The screen flickers on and she uses the other remote to find us a movie.

The movie turned on and I watched an older looking cartoon about three kittens, a pretty mom cat, and a bad guy butler that toys to get rid of them. I slowly eat my oatmeal and fruit as I watch. Before the movie was over I started to feel sleepy. May noticed my sleepy eyes and helped me to bed. She tucked me in the covers and turned the light off. She left the room after saying “get some good sleep, Lys.” I fell asleep in a warm cloud from heaven.
