Chapter 41: Shopping
Plain Jane smiles at me
Discreetly meeting here
None would know I’m her audience
As she tries on apparel with no sense of urgency
The vista is clear
But there will be no evidence
Of her inspired fashion show
The clothes become tighter
As she goes on
Soon it will be time to go
Onto goals I find brighter
Temptation is a slow bond
The nameless wander about
Never questioning my presence
Or my comments
I hear the misinformed spout
So wrong to miss the essence
Of my studious vents
I think the danger is part of the point
The enjoyment she gets from this
I enjoy the steady culmination
Of the daily permeatation
Its not exactly bliss
But the venture is joint
Hiding in plain sight
I’ve done this before
But it’s less meaningful now
Sort of pointless somehow
I don’t care, I don’t adore
But enjoy, I might
Plain Jane whispers discourteously
That it’s time to break free
Of the public accepted role
Closer to the truth I stole
As we leave with newly purchased garments
I crave something more
This is a temporary entertainment
Time to leave the store
