The next day, Kaylee’s parents were back at Policia Municipal. “I’m sorry,” said Detective Montoya. “These photos are disturbing, but they don’t prove that your daughter was kidnapped. There’s no indication that she is under duress.”

“Are you insane?” her father shouted. “My little girl would never do something like this unless she was forced! You need to do your damn job and figure out where she is. There must be some clues in these photos.”

“I’m afraid they don’t immediately tell us much about her location. I’d like you to send the photos to me via email. Then I can get our lab to analyze them more closely.”

After a brief discussion, the distraught parents agreed to share the photos with the police.
