Humans tame Eldritch beings.

When we first encountered Humanity, we had no idea of what we were helping launch itself across the galaxy.

They were slowly spreading across 17 star systems around their home system when the Council first contacted them via an exploration vessel. Normal diplomatic processes happened and humans were able to purchase plans and education materials for much faster warp drives and various advanced (to them) ship devices as well as devices for their civilian infrastructure. Included was a ‘universal’ translator that made communicating much easier.

Six years after their introduction into the galaxy, singular humans and family units started to appear with a ‘pet’. At first glance this pet wasn’t strange, a water loving creature with a mass of tentacles and capable of basic communicating, so it was possibly on the sentient spectrum.

When various authorities tried to examine this pet, the humans were very protective of it and insisted that it was still unused to strange beings, so they would rather not overwhelm it with too many people poking and proding at it. They produced human authority reports describing the creature and confirming it was not a biological threat to anyone.

So far no non-human authority has done any type of detailed examination of this pet but we have been watching them at a low level. The unknown is dangerous because we simply don’t know what it can do.

This changed 3 weeks ago when a human child was walking with it’s pet and a gang of criminals decided that kidnapping for ransom was a bright idea. They quickly grabbed the child, a 8 year old girl named Susan, and her pet and took them to a storage facility on the edge of the city where the humans lived.

They placed the girl and her pet in a room with some food and water and facilities as they didn’t know how long it would take to get the ransom. They contacted the humans and made their demands and since they had a reasonably good tech with them, they were able to hide their position and how they could hack into the communications network to make their demands.

When the humans demanded proof that their child was safe and sound along with her pet, one of the gang decided to teach the humans a lesson for making demands. They went into the room and brought the girl out along with her pet and made threats to harm the pet in front of the girl.

Susan instantly tried to protect het pet ‘Mr Wiggly’ and the gang member slapped her.

We are not quite sure what happened next as the humans are not releasing the recording that they have and have only released the section leading up to the slap.

What we do know is that when our guards arrived at the location the humans identified, they found the humans emergency services there treating the girl and pet and we discovered that the gang members had been killed in seriously horrific ways.

The humans refused to describe what happened in the recording but they have sent us an information documents about their ‘pet’.

Age: 100+ millions years old, estimated

Nickname: Great Old One, Mr Wiggles, Cuddles, Mr Wiggly, Mr Slimey, Cthuly, [Many more, too many to list here]

Place of discovery: Earth, Sol-III.

Description: Cthulhu is an ancient beyond belief deity or eldritch being who has been resident on Earth for more than 100 million years (138.2664 million galaxy standards years) and was recent rediscovered and finally able to communicate with humans without causing lethal or psychic harm to the listeners. The translator the galactic council sold humans allowed them to finally talk to Cthulhu in such a way that they could be understood and real communication between them allowed Cthulhu to moderate their voice. A bargain was brokered where Cthulhu would give minute parts of his being to any human who requested and would take these parts with them on their journeys, thus allowing Cthulhu to experience the wider galaxy as he rests and enjoys talking to the human race.

Conclusion: Humanity has made a pet of an eldritch being and is travelling with it through the galaxy. It’s power is such that it will protect it’s ‘owner’ from danger.

Warning: Reports are to be sent to all corners of the galaxy describing this being and warning all peoples to be very careful when interacting with humans. They are friends with a god and carry it with them.
