Humans sometimes defend their homes in unusual ways like with muskes, flintlocks, bayonets, and cannons

The alien dropship launched a missile towards it’s target and an EMP explosion wiped out all electronic devices including the latest models of the humans weapons. It was amazing that they never thought to harden their weapons against EMP and this would cost them dearly.

The dropship landed in an open space near the center of the town and the scanners could see a collection of humans peering at it from the buildings and houses lining the perimeter of the space. The ship crushed a metal and stone figure under a skid as it touched down.

As the troopers started debarking and lining up in rows, ready to fan out and subdue the town to bring it into the conclave’s control, the commander noticed that the humans were congregating in greater numbers and carrying various items that faintly looked like weapons. He wanted to say sticks but that would be too cruel. His troopers would just need to give one salvo of their weapons to show the humans had no chance.
