We were attacked by the humans but we don’t know why

The historical video zooms in on the fourth planet in a green star system named Gfrooyt-IV. The video shows a range of shipyards scattered around the planet in stable orbits between the twin moons of the planet.

It is a very unusual planet with it’s twin moons that are in the same orbital path but locked to opposite sides of their orbital path. Many researchers have spent years examining their phenomena and determined that these moons were placed there by some precursor race many millennia ago, before the Phraxxiol colonised the planet.

But this video is not concerned with that theory, it is focused on a range of ships parked near the shipyards in rank upon rank of military might. The numbers of ships show how strong the Phraxxiol empire is and how they built their power.

Suddenly a scattering of sparkles appeared just outside the orbit of the stations and hundreds and then thousands of objects flickered into view on trajectories that took them into contact with many of the ships floating in space.

Then we see an overwhelming wave of white blossoms appearing where the objects contacted the ships. This continued for minutes until every fleet of ships floating in parking orbit had been damaged by the objects, torpedoes we now know, that appeared from nowhere and gutted the might of the Phraxxiol empire in an attack carried out for no reason.

The video ends as emergency services start launching ships and rescue crews to try and find any personnel who survived on ships under construction or fitting out and to try and stop any wreckage from striking the stations or even falling out of orbit onto the planet.

“This video is a historical reconstruction of what happened three years ago. We were confused about who had attacked us or why they had done so because we have been at peace with all the civilizations we have encountered so far. And none of them had shown any indication that they were going to attack us and they opened up their records to our ambassadors to prove it.”

“We had no idea at all until one of our rescue vessels found a damaged torpedo that had failed to detonate and had been found lodged into the side of a frigate that had drifted away from it’s orbit. We were eventually able to deconstruct it and discover evidence inside it pointing to your location. We didn’t know who you were or anything about you because your closest border is two hundred light years away from our closest border.”

“We had to make a choice and we discovered that despite all the destruction, not a single person was killed or seriously injured by this attack. Trillions in ships were damaged or destroyed, and not a single person killed. We were beyond interested. And that is why we are here with only a single battleship and our diplomatic ship. We want to know why and how you humans attacked us.”

“Ambassador Heritth, we are beyond confused and happy that no one died but we truly have no idea who or how anyone in human space attacked your ships in a system that is roughly 2,418 light years away from our closest military hub. Even if we were to launch a fleet to attack you, it would take us about 4.2 years to traverse that distance without disturbing our neighbors and then we would have to penetrate your defenses without being detected which we don’t believe is possible for our technology level.”

“How is that possible? The torpedo we found is clearly labeled with human identifiers as our neighbors eventually showed us from data they gathered from trade with your empire.”

“Sir, we have no idea. Not even our rogue systems or pirates are capable of doing that because they would have done it to us first. All I can ask is that you allow our scientists, technicians and investigators to see what attacked you and see if we can work out what and who attacked you. You must monitor everything we do with observers and your own investigators so they can show anything we may miss.”

“Very well. We will transfer the torpedo over tomorrow along with our team of investigators along with a security team. Is that acceptable?”

“Yes of course. We will have a lab staffed and ready for it and hopefully we will be able to figure out where this came from. Thank you.”

Three months later on another meeting was called for everyone to attend to present preliminary results of the investigation.

“Ambassador, we have been working very hard and along with the input and insights of your researchers and investigators, we believe we know who attacked you and possibly why they did so.”
