Chapter 24
“I remember what Aunt Victoria said to us back then. Two as one to save the world and us,” she said, as I felt a surge of more power than I ever had.
I was blown back as my power skyrocketed. Holy shit! I had never felt this powerful. My sister pointed at the leader and released a torrent of power that pinned him to a huge oak tree.
I started to rip all the power from over three hundred men as they all fell whimpering. That was when I saw just as many start to approach. I had stripped half of them when I heard my sister scream.
I whipped around as the leader had almost reversed the power that she was holding him with. I snarled as I started to rip at his power, making him falter then fall.
I had just started to pound on him when I heard my sister yell at me again. The rest that I hadn’t finished were now trying to attack my sister.
“What’ll it be freak? Kill me or save her, huh? Cause if you don’t? I’ll keep coming back, over and over,” he sneered at me.
“That’s funny, a true freak calling me one. Especially as many times that I have whipped your pathetic ass. So here’s a reminder,” I said as I started to break his arms and legs in several places.
I turned as he screamed, then vanished. I started to finish what I had started as my sister sank to the ground with a proud look on her face. Shit I was getting tired of this.
I was about to chase after him to finish this when I saw that my sister had passed out. Shit, I thought the closer we got to our time the more this ass had to hunt us.
I had to end this as I moved to her. She was breathing, and I couldn’t see any bruises, though I was afraid to leave her.
I could see that there were more that were starting to advance on us. Damn it, I needed to kill that ass instead of making him human, he wasn’t going to stop, and I saw that I couldn’t.
My Jinns were touching my arms when I got to my sister. I hadn’t noticed that I had started to glow, as did my sister, not til I looked at my Jinns.
What the hell I thought as we all started to fade. We appeared almost thirty seconds later, I immediately covered us in a hiding field. I just hoped that it gave us a chance to recharge.
Little did any of us know that Jake Freeman and his Jinns were hot on our heels. Where we landed was just outside a large city.
I had thought that I had rested enough, especially after the short trip. I found that my energy was lower than I thought.
I was worried about my Jinns and my sister far more than I was myself. I knelt again over my sister, still swaying a bit.
I reached down and lightly placed my hand on her forehead. I was almost immediately knocked back into a tree trunk.
I shook my head, christ, thought, what in the hell was going on? I saw that, at least my sister looked a lot better, though, I was a little light-headed now.
Catherine was worried, especially when I nearly fell on my face again. “Master?” she said, concern etched in her voice. Cythina had a look of concern also.
“Need to rest,” I said as I laid down. I just hoped that the hiding field was strong enough to keep us hidden so we could rest.
I was hoping that I hadn’t hurt my sister after the confrontation. I had a lot to pay that ass for and this just added to it.
Just before I slept, I warned my Jinns that I could feel them. I didn’t think they could get to us, but they were to stay alert and wake me if they felt different.
The dream I had was the worst that I could have, first it had the evil Jinn, Hajib. Then the ex-mage leader of the Egyptian guard.
They both had my Jinns and sister staked to the ground as they were torturing them. I awoke a few hours later, floating as few feet off the ground, glowing with high intensity.
My Jinns were trying to anchor me and trying to awaken my sister. I was confused for only a moment, then I felt a great number of people moving towards us.
Shit I thought, and I had thought that last time was bad. This time I felt somewhere in the neighborhood of no less than a thousand.
I shook my head, how did this ass get so many in just a decade and a half? I managed to reach out and strip the first twenty, though their screams brought a lot of them to that group.
From what I felt, a lot of them were pissed as hell, even more were scared. I guess that was good, as I felt a few hundred that were left. I sighed that still left almost a thousand to contend with.
I knew that I couldn’t kill this many as I felt that it would change me far too much. I sat as I felt them moving around nearby, a few tricks moved most of them away, but there were a few still near.
I started out stripping the first twenty-five. Though it took longer, at least it wasn’t using energy as fast as I could recharge. I tried to do a count, seeing that there were about a hundred and fifty still nearby.
I drew a deep breath as I started to strip them as fast as I could. Surprised when I was able to ten at a time, though after five times I had to slow as it did suck energy faster.
I had gotten about two hundred, though there were another, almost a thousand more out there. I had to wonder how there were so many after the power had been eliminated in the past.
Damn, I thought could all of this be genetics and DNA? Damnit, I hadn’t shit I could go back, but that would take far more time.
I went to the more than two hundred and searched them. What I thought was promoting their family power, was hidden deep within them.
After I had finished with them, I looked even closer. I found that almost all of them had a hidden facet within their bodies that made them as evil as they were. I was shocked when I found it, then removed it.
I shook my head, this was going to be a beast to try and remove. Over two hundred would help, but I needed all of them to stop the idiot guard commander, well, ex-commander.
That’s about the time I found that a good number didn’t have the facet that a lot did. These I left alone, though it was only about two hundred, and it was easy to help correct their evil tendencies. I also left a message about what had been done to them and how they were freed.
That left me at eight hundred more crap I thought, twice as many more than I had already done. Then there was the fact that I was trying to protect my Jinns and sister. It was strange as they were supposed to be trying to protect me.
I shook my head as I started to move through them. I had another hundred and fifty when they started to notice that many were missing.
I was as careful as I could be and had fixed, I guess you’d say, when the last five hundred panicked. This made getting to them a lot harder. I was at six hundred when the last four hundred started to call for the ex-commander mage.
That ass came roaring in like the idiot he was, it afforded me getting another fifty. Three hundred fifty wasn’t bad compared to what they had started with.
The leader, of course, started to rage again because he could no longer connect to the eight hundred fifty. He then had them start to hunt in groups, five of them netted another fifty.
That’s when I caught the leader by surprise, or rather, he came upon me. I had hit him with a few stunning bolts, ripping a few more powers from him.
I also got another fifty that had been with him. I sighed as I was growing tired, having fixed I guess you’d say so many.
I watched as he screamed and shot a few bolts at me, then, with me distracted, slipped into the time stream. I had to hide as almost all of the two hundred converged on where we had been.
I shook my head as I carefully tried to fix the rest, though ten at a time took a while. The last group were the worst that I found I wasn’t able to change. I managed to remove their powers, but they escaped somehow.
I found out years later that two died the next day, two months later, and one was imprisoned a few years later. I felt that the way was clear for us to go forward. I was ready, then passed out far too tired to move.
While I was asleep, I didn’t know that Jake and his Jinns had arrived in the time I was. They did find the two hundred I had allowed to live and the message I left.
I also didn’t know that the regular humans of this time were working on deterrents. As of yet, they didn’t have much, but they were starting to be able to fight back.
We found out later though they didn’t have anything that would hurt my family. I also didn’t know that neither his Jinns nor him could find us.
This was surprising with the power that they had. I guess the hiding field had us well disguised as they searched for a while.
Not long after I awoke, I checked to see that no more mages were coming for us. Another strange thing was that I hadn’t detected Jake and his Jinns either.
I hoped that I had hurt the mage ass so that we could go home, no such luck. We had finally gotten back to where we needed to be and slipped forward in time.
I was a little upset when we appeared a minute later. I looked at the cars and buildings, I could see that we were in the late sixties. Well, I thought close but still no cigar.
I reached out feeling that there weren’t nearly as many as there had been. I also felt that the two hundred that I had saved were in fact good.
I was about to reach out when two appeared outside my hiding field. I nodded to my sister and Jinns as they appeared before me.
They slightly bowed in greeting, “hello sir,” they started. I was just staring at them for a moment feeling that they had no bad intentions. “We are with the conclave. We were tasked to greet you when you arrive. We weren’t sure when but we have waited.”
I looked at my sister and my Jinns surprised. I was still unsure til the one that had spoken advised me who their parents were.
