The room grew quiet as the four of them worked in harmony, their threads intertwining to create a new pattern. It was a dance as old as time itself, a dance that would now include her. With each stroke of the shuttle, she felt her power growing, and she knew that she had made the right choice.
As the night deepened outside, the loom grew brighter, and the threads grew more vibrant. The darkness of the Shadow Weavers’ influence began to recede, replaced by the warm light of hope. Mary knew that she had much to learn, but she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Together, they would ensure that the pattern of fate remained strong and true.
The Weaver of Dreams smiled softly at Mary; her eyes filled with pride. “You have chosen wisely, child,” she said, her voice like the rustle of silk. “But remember, this is only the beginning. The Shadow Weavers will not rest until they have unraveled all that we hold dear.” Mary nodded, her resolve hardening like steel. She would not let them win.
Outside, the first hints of dawn began to bleed across the horizon, painting the sky in streaks of rose and gold. The loom’s light dimmed slightly, its work for the night complete. Yet the threads remained vibrant, pulsing with an energy that seemed to breathe. Mary traced her fingers over the newly woven pattern, feeling its warmth seep into her skin a comforting hum against the lingering chill of fear.
Atropos cleared her throat, his gaze sharp as he studied Mary’s face. “They’ll come for you first,” she stated bluntly, turning a thread between her fingers. “The Shadow Weavers recognize power when it’s born. They’ll test your resolve before sunrise tomorrow.” Mary’s knuckles whitened around her shuttle, but she kept her voice steady. “Let them.”
