The morning after the confrontation with Clarissa’s parents, Jared was having breakfast with his girlfriend, his mother (Lorelei), and her wife (Sandra). The side of his face where he had been slugged was turning all kinds of painful-looking colors.

“Yeah, exactly, just enough to get him through the next couple of days without risking addiction. I’ll give you the script to use this morning. Clarissa, Lore’s going to pick up some clothes for you. You need to give her your sizes for just a couple of outfits to wear when you’re out. That’s until we can figure out how to safely get your stuff.”
“Lorelei, Sandra, I don’t know what to say. You’re being so nice, making room for me and all.”
“I hope you still think so after we talk about our household. This kind of all goes back to Peter. You see, he was raised in a nudist family. Not long after we got married, he introduced me to that life. I very quickly adapted to being naked all the time at home, including when Jared was growing up.
