Chapter 8: End of the Weekend

Zoe’s phone pinged with a WhatsApp. She eventually got out of the pool, read the message and read it to everyone:-

They all rushed to shower and went upstairs to get dressed.
“Zoe, you live quite close to me so why don’t I pick you up around 8:30 in the morning to drive you to school then we can have a chat?” Ruby suggested.

After quick goodbyes to Ruby, the other three bundled into the car. On the way, Zoe had been doing some thinking. “Guys, this has been the best weekend of my life and I would love to do it again. Mum is going to want me to stay with Jen next weekend but I’d much rather stay with you if you’ll have me.”
“We’d love to have you again!” Mark replied laughing and making Zoe blush.
“It’s much more fun with you here Zoe and I don’t just mean the sex, although that is an amazing bonus!” Ben added.
“If our parents suspect anything I’ll definately not be allowed to stay with you, so no sexy looks, kisses, hugs or groping my bum when they’re around” Zoe said, laughing.
“OK, but it will be hard” Ben replied.

They arrived at the Andersen’s just before Zoe’s parents. After hugging them both, Zoe asked “How’s Grannie Lillian?”
“We found a home she likes but we need to go up again next weekend to move her in” Rachel explained.
“So, can I stay here again?” Zoe asked.
“Maybe you should ask Jen - I don’t want to put on Jackie.” her mum replied. She also was thinking that leaving her pretty young daughter with two older boys for another weekend was risky.
“She’s really no bother” Jackie said. “Zoe helps a lot and the boys are much better behaved when she’s here.”
“OK, if you’re sure” Rachel conceded, earning a big smile from her daughter.
They had a fun BBQ but Rachel was a bit surprised when her husband, Tom and Mike were getting on so well after years of animosity.
On their way home, Zoe was quizzed about her weekend and she was surprised that there was so much she could actually tell her parents.
When they arrived home, Rachel and Zoe were walking into the house when Rachel said “You’re walking a bit awkwardly Zoe.”
Recovering from her embarrassment quickly, Zoe replied “I pulled a muscle on Saturday, Mum.”
“Better put something soothing on it before you go to bed then.”
“I will” Zoe replied, thinking of the gel Ruby had given her. She resolved to apply plenty of the gel, to be sure no-one at school teased her about walking funny.
