Chapter 5

As Aeta lay in her bed, she thought further on the topic of naming her slime. Her thoughts began to its type of slime, which was creation slime, and like the anime character Rimuru, her thoughts went back to her old language of Japan. She remembered, in Japan, creation, had multiple names, so she decided to go with Sosaku.

Aeta’s choice of the name “Sosaku” for her creation slime was a fitting one. It resonated with the concept of creativity and craftsmanship in Japanese, reflecting the slime’s unique abilities and its origin as a product of Aeta’s imagination and magic. As she drifted off to sleep, she felt a sense of satisfaction and anticipation for the new day’s adventures at Astral Academy, where she would continue her magical studies, create new possibilities, and explore the boundless wonders of this extraordinary world.

That night’s dreams were prophetic. She saw herself in a different body, one of red and black, and she saw herself as a part of a group of adventurers. In the dream, she found herself in what appeared to be a library in some kind of forest. She wasn’t sure if this was in Verdantwood Province or not.

Aeta’s prophetic dream intrigued her as she witnessed herself in a different form and setting, surrounded by a group of adventurers in a mysterious forest library. It left her with questions about what the dream might signify and whether it would have any relevance to her future endeavors. With her newfound magical abilities and the support of her loyal companions, Aeta felt better equipped to face whatever challenges and adventures lay ahead. As she woke from the dream, she couldn’t help but wonder if it held a glimpse of her destiny or if it was merely a reflection of her vibrant imagination in this extraordinary world.

Aeta found Eliyen there, about to awaken her. “good morning, my lady! Sleep well?” she asked as she stood up again. “I’ll go prepare your bath, and I have news from Lady Seraphina. Also, have you thought of a name for our little friend?” she asked with a hand indicating the creation slime.

Aeta greeted Eliyen with a smile and nodded. “Yes, I had an interesting dream last night. And I think I’ve decided on a name for our new friend, ‘Sosaku.’” She then looked at Eliyen with curiosity, waiting to hear what Lady Seraphina’s news might be.

“Sosaku, that’s an interesting word, not one I’ve heard about. I take it, earth inspired it?” she asked her.

Aeta nodded in response. “Yes, it’s a Japanese word that roughly means ‘creation’ or ‘creative.’ I thought it was fitting for our slime friend since it’s a creation slime.” She then added, “Now, what was the news from Lady Seraphina?”

“Ah, my apologies, Lady Seraphina, was thinking of putting her approval for you to learn spirit summoning, she thought with beast taming, spirit summoning might also be good,” Eliyen said.

Aeta’s eyes brightened with excitement. “Spirit summoning? That sounds fascinating! I’d love to learn more about it. Please convey my thanks to Lady Seraphina for her consideration.” She paused for a moment before continuing, “And I’ll work on mastering the basics of spirit summoning as well.”

Eliyen nodded her head to her lady’s words. “Absolutely!” she said as she hurried into the bathroom to prepare Aeta’s bath. “in addition, there’s an experiment I’d like to try, based on tomes I’ve read,” Aeta said as she began to get undressed as Eliyen prepared her bath.

Eliyen peeked her head out of the bathroom with a curious expression. “An experiment, my lady? What kind of experiment are you planning?”

Aeta smiled as she stepped into the warm bath that Eliyen had prepared. “I’ve been thinking about Sosaku, our creation slime, and the possibilities that come with it. I want to explore how it might help us in different ways. And this experiment is just the beginning.”

Eliyen nodded, understanding Aeta’s curiosity. “I see, my lady. Please let me know how I can assist you in this experiment.”

Aeta relaxed in the bath, her mind full of thoughts and ideas. “Thank you, Eliyen. I will keep you informed about it.”

Aeta smiled as she stepped into the warm bath that Eliyen had prepared. “I’ve been thinking about Sosaku, our creation slime, and the possibilities that come with it. I want to explore how it might be able to help us in different ways. On the other hand, with spirits, I have learned that lesser spirits grow to become greater spirits when they absorb magic particles. On the off chance that the summoning produces only lesser spirits, we could use cores which contain magic particles for their use.”

Eliyen nodded, understanding Aeta’s intentions. “I see.”She said, as Aeta sunk deeper into the bath, considering her plan.

Eliyen continued to prepare Aeta’s bath, adjusting the temperature to her liking. “I’ll help you with this experiment, my lady. If Sosaku can contribute to our magical abilities, it would be a significant advantage.”

Aeta nodded in agreement. “Thank you, Eliyen. I’ll need your assistance, and Tomoe’s too, to ensure the experiment is safe and effective. We should be prepared for any unexpected results.”

Eliyen finished setting up the bath and then left to fetch Tomoe, who would be an important part of the experiment. Aeta remained in the bath, her mind filled with anticipation of what this magical journey with Sosaku might reveal.

Eliyen knelt beside Aeta on the ledge, ready to assist her with anything she needed. “So after breakfast, we will learn what we can of Sosaku, and begin spirit summoning. Oh! do you feel ready for Golem work with Master Dvalin?” she asked.

Aeta appreciated Eliyen’s support. “I’m looking forward to exploring Sosaku’s potential after breakfast. As for the Golem work with Master Dvalin, I’m excited but a little nervous. I know dwarven craftsmanship is renowned, and working with Golems could be a valuable skill. I’ll do my best to learn from him and represent our family well.”

With the prospect of a busy day ahead, Aeta finished her bath and prepared for breakfast, eager to discover more about the magical world she was now part of.

Eliyen made sure that Aeta’s breakfast was full of ingredients that would give her a boost in energy, especially her magic levels, knowing that studies would make her exhausted by the time night came.

As Aeta enjoyed the energy-boosting breakfast prepared by Eliyen, she appreciated the thoughtful gesture. It was evident that her companions were committed to ensuring she had the best possible start to her day. Aeta felt a surge of gratitude and determination as she prepared herself for the challenges and learning experiences that awaited her at Astral Academy.

Classes for most of the day went as Tomoe and Eliyen expected to, with Aeta surpassing expectations. Many of the masters thought, as Master Ignis had, that she was a savant when it came to magic.

Aeta’s impressive performance in her classes further solidified her position as a standout student at Astral Academy. Her aptitude for magic continued to astound her teachers and fellow students. This opened up opportunities for her to learn and grow even more during her time at the academy.

While in the halls, Master Ignis called to her. “Lady Aeta Von Siemils a moment. I’d like to speak to you about what I have discovered with your idea from yesterday.” Aeta nodded in acknowledgment and made her way to Master Ignis. She was intrigued to hear what he had to say about her idea from the previous day.

“You were correct, the element known as plasma does indeed exist, and as you were the one to propose this idea, I will give you the notes I’ve written,” Master Ignis said as he handed her his notes.

Aeta accepted the notes with gratitude. “Thank you, Master Ignis. I appreciate your guidance and knowledge.” She glanced at the notes, eager to delve deeper into the study of plasma magic.

Master Ignis smiled and patted her on the shoulder. “Keep up the good work, Lady Aeta. You have great potential.” With a respectful nod, Aeta continued on her way, thoughts buzzing with newfound excitement.

“Seems we shall be doing more in your private study room, my lady,” Eliyen said with a smile on her face.

Aeta nodded with enthusiasm. “Indeed, it looks like our private study room will be seeing a lot of action.” She couldn’t wait to explore plasma magic and continue her experiments with Sosaku. The trio continued to their next class, Aeta’s mind brimming with anticipation of all the magical knowledge she was gaining.

Aeta continued her focus in her class, inadvertently showing off her skills and intellect. Their teacher had asked for a volunteer to go into the city, to pick up a package, clearly, the master was being lazy but Aeta found she wanted to go into down to look around further and that they could use a break so she volunteered the trio to go.

Eliyen and Tomoe didn’t object, and accepted the task gracefully. They knew it would be an excellent opportunity for Aeta to explore the city and experience more of their world. After the class ended, they made their way to the city to retrieve the package.

Aeta walked ahead of them as they made for the academy’s doors. “So, we need to go to the shop called Mineral Works. Are you two familiar with the location, and where we need to go?’ she asked Eliyen and Tomoe, but not Sosaku, since the slime couldn’t speak.

Eliyen nodded. “Yes, my lady, I know the location. We should head to Mineral Works, which is in the northern part of the city. They deal with various gems, minerals, and alchemical ingredients. It’s a well-known place, and we shouldn’t have any trouble finding it.”

Tomoe added, “It’s a fascinating store. You might find some interesting materials or magical gems that pique your interest, Lady Aeta.” With Sosaku clinging to Aeta’s side, they made their way to the city, ready to explore and retrieve the package.

As they walked through the bustling streets of the city, Aeta couldn’t help but be fascinated by the unique sights and sounds. The city was full of life, and she couldn’t help but wonder about the possibilities and opportunities it held. The idea of creating new settlements was an intriguing one, and she realized that her knowledge and skills could potentially be used for the betterment of her new world.

Eliyen and Tomoe remained vigilant, ensuring Aeta’s safety as they made their way to Mineral Works. They knew that this city, while vibrant, could also hold hidden dangers, so they stayed close to their lady, ready to assist her in any situation.

As they approached Mineral Works, it adorned the entrance with various minerals and gems, showcasing the shop’s specialty. It was a wondrous sight as she took in its appearance. As she had, Aeta’s heart raced with anticipation of what they might find inside.

Thus she stepped forward and entered a chime rang overhead, marked by a mechanism that caused something to hit a bell as they entered. It created a pleasant atmosphere within the shop. Aeta, Eliyen, Tomoe, and even Sosaku entered the establishment, which was filled with the sparkle and shimmer of various minerals, gems, and ores. The shop’s interior was well-organized, with displays of polished gemstones, uncut crystals, and beautifully crafted jewelry.

A friendly shopkeeper greeted them, offering assistance and explaining the different minerals and gemstones available. Aeta’s eyes were drawn to the colorful assortment of stones, each seemingly imbued with its own unique energy and beauty.

“Welcome to Mineral Works. Is there anything specific you’re looking for, or do you need any guidance on the items we have?” the shopkeeper inquired, ready to help Aeta and her companions with their quest.

Aeta smiled politely “Hello Good shopkeeper, we are here to pick up a package for a master at Astral Academy. In addition, I’m looking for special magic ore orbs, I need them for an experiment I will be conducting later. I realize it may be expensive, but I’d like the magic particles contained within to be the equivalent of a grand champion or better.”

The shopkeeper nodded and listened respectfully to Aeta’s requests. “Of course, we have a package for Astral Academy ready for pickup,” they said, gesturing toward a nearby counter where a sealed package was prepared for delivery. “And we do have a selection of high-quality magic ore orbs, although such items are indeed precious.”

They proceeded to show Aeta an array of magic ore orbs, each with a unique color and energy pulsating within. The shopkeeper explained, “These magic ore orbs have been meticulously harvested from deep within the ground and they contain potent magic particles. We have a range of sizes, with the larger orbs typically holding more powerful magic.”

As they displayed the orbs, the shopkeeper pointed out the one that seemed to match Aeta’s criteria. “This particular orb is of exceptional quality. It contains magic particles equivalent to a grand champion. May I interest you in this one?” They waited for Aeta’s decision.

Aeta looked at the orb that she was shown. Immediately, she could tell this was exactly what she wanted. “Yes, please thank you!” she said as she reached into her pocket for the gold amount that she clearly needed. This cost more than silver coins after all, according to the price she saw.

The shopkeeper accepted the payment and carefully placed the magic ore orb in a small padded box to ensure its safe transport. They handed it over to Aeta, saying, “Here is your magic ore orb, Lady Aeta. Please handle it with care, as these items are quite sensitive to external influences. Is there anything else you need?”

As the transaction concluded, Aeta could feel the potent energy emanating from the orb in her hand. It was an exciting addition to her magical studies.

“if you have any more, I would be interested, even at a lower level,” Aeta said as Eliyen and Tomoe moved to take the package they had originally come here for.

The shopkeeper nodded and went to check their inventory for additional magic ore orbs. After a brief search, they returned with a few smaller orbs, each with a slightly lower concentration of magic particles. They said, “Here are some smaller magic ore orbs with slightly lower-grade magic particles. These should be more affordable for you. Is there a specific number you would like?”

Aeta’s eyes were drawn to the smaller orbs, realizing that she could potentially get more for her experiments.

“Certainly, I would be interested in those there,” Aeta said, pointing to the ones she wanted. Though she didn’t know how the shopkeeper knew who she was, she thought that her reputation preceded her, and the fact she was a provincial lord’s daughter.

The shopkeeper nodded and gathered the orbs Aeta had selected. They packaged them carefully and handed them over. “Here you go, Lady Aeta Von Siemils. I hope these orbs serve you well in your experiments. Is there anything else you’d like?”

Aeta accepted the orbs, thanked the shopkeeper, and said, “No, that will be all. Thank you for your assistance.” With the package and the newly gained orbs in her possession, Aeta and her companions left the shop.

With everything in their custody, the three walked back towards the academy, though at a slower pace. This was because it was soon to be lunch. “I was thinking the dorm’s food is delicious, but what if we stop at a place here in the capital?” Tomoe asked her companions.

Aeta considered the suggestion. “That sounds like a wonderful idea. Exploring the capital and trying local food can be quite an experience. Let’s find a nice place to eat, and perhaps they have dishes that are unique to this area.” She smiled at her companions.

Eliyen nodded in agreement. “I believe trying new dishes would be a great opportunity to learn more about this land.” With their plan set, they started looking for a suitable place to dine within the bustling capital.

As they walked, Aeta spoke to her friends “I admit I was surprised that the shopkeeper knew who I was, I suppose I have gained a reputation since we’ve come here, plus Father, likely has made people aware of my existence as his daughter.” She said, though, at the mention of Father, she thought of Lord Augustus, and wondered how he and her other family were.

Tomoe nodded. “It’s not uncommon for the noble families of this world to have a certain level of recognition and reputation. The fact that you’re the daughter of a provincial lord might have made people more aware of you, especially in a place like the capital.”

Eliyen added, “It’s possible that word has spread about your talents and skills at the academy as well. News travels fast, especially in places like this. However, it’s not automatically a bad thing, as it might open up opportunities and connections.”

As they walked and discussed these matters, they continued their search for a suitable place to have lunch in the capital.

Aeta nodded her head in agreement before she abruptly stopped. “ooh you smell that? That smells amazing, also tasty,” she said as she smelled something delicious cooking.

Following Aeta’s nose, they soon found themselves in front of a charming little restaurant with outdoor seating. The aroma wafting from the place was delightful, and the sign above the entrance read “The Starlight Bistro.” The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting.

Tomoe and Eliyen both smiled at Aeta, and Tomoe said, “I believe this is the place our noses have been leading us to. Would you like to try this place for lunch?”

Aeta, enticed by the tantalizing scent, responded eagerly, “Absolutely, let’s go in and have a meal here.” The three of them entered the bistro and found a table where they could enjoy the delightful lunch offerings.

A man quickly appeared at their table’s side, and he bowed to them. “greetings, dear beautiful maidens, welcome! We offer only the best for your delectable tastes!” He said. Tomoe spoke up first. “what would be your recommendation?” she asked while pondering at being called a maiden, though appreciated being called beautiful.

The man, dressed in a sharp black suit, smiled warmly at Tomoe and replied, “Ah, you have an impeccable taste in restaurants, I must say. Our specialty here is the Starlight Medley Platter, a combination of various dishes to satisfy your palate. It includes roasted game, fresh vegetables, and a selection of our finest cheeses, all served with a side of our delicious house-made bread. It’s a favorite among our guests.”
