Prologue

Eric Coleman is lying in a hospice ward, dying from cancer at 41 years old. Being that he has no money, no family, and no assets to sell off, he’s in one of the shittiest hospice wards that money can buy. It’s the type of place that you only work at if you have no other job opportunities. The people employed here will only do the very bare minimum for their patients, nothing else. The cancer killing him would have likely been treatable had he been able to afford getting tested for it early on. Because of the circumstances of his youth, he had always had to live hand to mouth and just barely be able to make a living. There was never any extra money for health insurance or hospital check ups. Those that at least didn’t involve some sort of obvious emergency.

The cancer started in his colon, but it eventually spread to most of his body. Now he was at the point where he was more cancerous cells than human. The medication that he is provided was barely able to take the pain away. As he feels his life slip away and looks back, he cannot help but be angry and bitter. The life he and his mother could have had were all but robbed from him by his father and his family.
