After that, we fucked a lot. Jayne’s Dad was absolutely cool about everything. I’d come round on an evening after school, and before I’d go upstairs, he’d tell me not to forget the condoms or that he’d just bought some more. Jayne’s Mum used to just grin at that, but she never ever talked to Jayne or I about what we were doing.
I will say this: every time we’d finish fucking and we’d leave her bedroom, her Dad was always lurking about upstairs. I didn’t say anything to Jayne, and it was a shared smirk between her Dad and I, but I started noticing a pattern.
During our second month of our new sexual adventures, we had a shock: the condom split. We didn’t realise till after I’d cum and I withdrew from her. It was a Tuesday night, one I’ll remember for the rest of my life, because we honestly thought she would be pregnant and it would be the end of our lives as we knew them. We got out the yellow pages and found some adverts for family planning. We never even considered going to our local GP. A quick phone call from a nearby public phone box and we’d got an appointment at a family planning clinic in the nearest city, about an hour away. We both bunked off school that next morning, and took the train to the city. We were both very quiet, and neither of us had slept much.
In the clinic, they were brilliant. It was run by a charity and they didn’t treat us as kids, or immature or gave us lectures. We saw a nurse and then a Doctor, and Jayne was given the morning after pill. Based on Jayne’s point in her monthly cycle, they felt the risk was low but wanted to be sure. Then they gave Jayne a prescription for the pill, and told her what to say to her local GP going forward. We also got given leaflets and a sex education book. By lunchtime, we were on our way back home, relieved and better educated.
We continued to use condoms for a while as we waited for the right time in the month to start the pill and for it to become effective. And even after that, we continued to take condoms from her parents’ supply, even though we didn’t use them, as Jayne’s parents had views on the safety of the pill and we didn’t want to tell them that Jayne was on it. Jayne’s Mum had had a friend who had developed cancer and she was convinced the culprit was an early sequence of the contraceptive pill.
