The two pals dressed and walked back to Naomi’s. Randy had stayed to watch the main show. Three shows — Kate had added two more in order to accommodate more young mothers. Who not only had sex on stage with each other, but with their sons there in the audience. While that had once been controversial and much talked-about around town, it was hardly ever mentioned anymore. Sausalito knew that it was a given — if you wanted to be one of Kate’s Saturday-morning dancers, your son had to be there watching.

“When all the boys were after them. That makes sense, Kate. Being a housewife, a working mom, can get you in a rut.”

Sipping coffee in her kitchen, Naomi gave Carole a wry smile, “Well, I did it.” Carole knew that she was referring to the Randy-kiss, not the video screening.

“How does it feel?”

“I haven’t processed it yet. Kate caught me by surprise putting him in the lineup.”

“Well, he certainly enjoyed it.”

“Duh. He’s a horny 14-year-old.”

“And you’re a sexy movie star.”

“I did look good, didn’t I? I loved that big screen.”
