While Kate was nowhere close to achieving Eulalie’s level of multitasking, she was certainly capable of working toward more than one goal at a time.

Because “Son-Fuckers” was calendar-driven to meet film-festival submission dates, her number-one priority was to find a ‘virgin’ mother whose journey from ‘absolutely no sexual contact with her son’ to ‘complete submission’ would be the central focus of the movie. This mom would become the main character, the sympathetic face, the narrative-driver.

And, Kate, Darlene, and Ray-Ray had selected their prime candidate. Although Charity ‘Cherry’ Devereaux had no idea she’d been chosen.

At the same time, Kate was ready to implement a personal, long-term dream-wish of her own. This was unrelated to the “Son-Fuckers” film. Kate was determined to take one pious, church-going woman and turn her into a stripper. At least one.

The Church Lady campaign was personal to Kate. The pulpit-pounders had almost closed Miss Kitty’s down the first few months of operation. Behind the scenes, Marie Guidry had made a few quiet promises, a couple of thinly-veiled threats, and the crisis had passed.

But the religious-opposition had never given completely up. And, Kate knew that they never would. But if she could somehow convert one of the truest-believers into dancing at Miss Kitty’s ... well that would be satisfaction and vindication rolled up into one nice little package of schadenfreude.

And a possible candidate had — serendipity happens! — surfaced obliquely — a 27-year-old woman named Rosie Robinson.

So... “Son-Fuckers” and “Church Lady” — two independent operations with a similar goal. Seduce a young woman into going against the base principles she grown up believing in.
