Chapter 8

Ten more years and it is all over. I read a very credible article on the NYTimes a few months ago saying that we have about 10 years till the wheels come off due to climate change.

All summer long I have been reading articles in the NYT about the unprecedented heat and it is BUSINESS AS USUAL!?!?!?!?

I’m sorry but this is all bizarre. This has to be affecting people. More and more I sit and wonder what is the point? What diff does it all make? Why try any more? It’s all futile. 10 MORE FUCKING YEARS.

An entire planet in denial. North America. Europe. Asia. All are suffering from very high heat. Droughts. Deaths. Heat records falling like a music store in a tornado.

It depresses me. Why should I try to share what I have learned? It just don’t not matter no mo’.

I’m getting my cataract surgery if a few days and I wonder why; so I can see it all clearly if the end arrives before I croak?

I knew the end couldn’t be far away when they started to run out of stories to tell on tv and in movies. Been there and done that. Well, show’s almost over. Time to move on. I wonder if the dino’s will be back in a few million years. I hope the buffalo and the fish come back as well. I hope the planet is ripe with life again; just without us.

Is that such a bad thing?

Gonna be a whole lot of suffering when the time comes. Could do without that.

The certain knowledge of impending severe climate change makes phonies and hypocrites of us all.
