Sleeping through the night was a lot easier the second night of being female. If nothing else was accomplished, at least I remembered to sit for my middle of the night pee, so I counted that as a win.
I woke in the morning and decided that my bed sheets and comforter needed sprucing up. They had the aura of being older and masculine. Too many muted colors. I needed something brighter and more vibrant.
Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t suggesting Barbie-pink or anything like that, but brighter colors would liven up the room and bring a certain energy to it. I was a teen girl now, with (hopefully) my whole life ahead of me. Why should my bedroom look like the bedroom of a run-down divorcee?
So I went to Amazon and ordered a new bed collection of comforter, pillow cases, and bed sheets. I also ordered a couple other complete sheet selections.
OK, shopping done for the morning. Now to face the task at hand.
I gathered up my notes and began typing up an overview of the process that I had created for Chromosomal Reassignment. I explained how it was only possible to go from male to female at the moment. I stressed the telomere regeneration/regression effect and it’s implications (most likely death) if CR was attempted upon a young person. I was quite frank that it was unknown if the telomere regeneration would bring every subject back to their teen years, or if only a percentage of their age was “peeled back”.
After the overview I explained the exact process I undertook, my testing phases, and finally my human trial. I cautioned that long term effects were still unknown, and should be studied further before widespread implementation.
I entitled the submission as “Project Lola” and signed it “David Byrne”. I have to admit that I took a bit of a perverse pleasure in both. Those who were familiar with music would get the references, but it would sail past others. “Lola” was a notable song by “The Kinks” describing the meeting between the singer and someone he met at a bar named Lola. It’s only by listening to the lyrics that you realize that Lola might be more than she appears. Two notable lines were “She walks like a woman, but talks like a man.” and “I know what I am, and I’m glad I’m a man. And so is Lola.”
As for David Byrne, he released a song about gender swapping called “Now I’m Your Mom”.
After typing up “Project Lola”, I created a disposable email account and sent the text to Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, The New York Times, The Los Angels Times, and USA Today. Also, since I didn’t want the story suppressed or only owned by “Big Pharma”, I also sent a copy to GLAAD. I figured their membership would most benefit from this advancement, so I wanted to make sure they knew about it.
