I read all six Dune books when I was in my teens and although he wasn't the main character I always thought Duncan Idaho was a cool character in the Dune universe.
As for me, I have had friends that told me I should write a book about some of the things I have seen or done but I really don't think I was very interesting so instead I decided to take some events from my life and write smut instead. Most of the events are either pure fiction or pretty close, maybe using an event or two from my real life that I embellish. I have a couple stories that I may tell that are more non-fiction and if I decide to write those I will note they are based on real life events.
