1: A Flawed Diamond by Jay Cantrell A Flawed Diamond made baseball exciting again for me. Something it hasn't been for a long time considering I grew up a Cub fan! Don't start with Diamond though, to fully appreciate the story you have to know how the characters got to where they are. So that said, read Outsider first. In fact I recommend all of Jay's works. I've read all but 2 of them. Even set in different times and locations, Jay does a remarkable job of creating the "world" in each story.
