3: A Mercenary's Tale by 2 flags The main character is the sort of guy you can like. Things are happening very conveniently, but anything else would make to story get long winded and boring, this way is more fun.

6: The Temptations of Babylon by Rod O'Steele An excellent story of how one young man handled having dreams he didn't even have come true, they were too good for him to even have imagined. I like the references to Heinlein as well.
