1: Aftermath by Al Steiner The quintessential SOL post-apoc story. Our heroes survive the near extinction event of comet Fenwell's impact with earth. Definitely a must read.
2: Dance of a Lifetime by Don Lockwood One of the better long form coming of age stories on SOL. It manages to avoid most of the pitfalls that seem to plague these type stories. The protagonists, a 14 year old party girl and a brainy prep-school student come together the only place they have in common, on the ice. In the end it certainly succeeds in transcending the erotic genre into a full blown love story (with plenty of hot action as well).
3: Opus One by Ryan Sylander I got a comment today about the Chaos stories. In it the reader listed a couple of other stories he's read involving music, and hinted his tastes ran more to the classical genre.
That's when I realized that Opus One wasn't on my list. Ryan Sylander's Opus One is nothing less than a classic. If follows, not a couple, but a trio through life at a prestigious musical college.
As with all my favorites there is a lot of story here and this is another great example of how erotica can be folded into an amazing tale.
4: Playing the Game by Rev. Cotton Mather The Right Reverend got most things right in this coming of age story. Sean Porter is a young soccer player on his way to stardom. Of course there are more than a few speed bumps along the way and many of them are girls. I think Kayla is one of my favorite female characters on SOL, she knows what she wants and uses everything in her arsenal to make sure she gets it!
5: The Preacher Man by hammingbyrd7 Now for something completely different. In a future global theocracy all women are 'eternal virgins' who lose their memory of past events every night. One man rebels and tries to set things right. A truly original story that shows just what can be done within the erotic genre.
6: Sea King by colt45 Well written fantasy with believable characters. It shows how some erotic themes can be bonded into a good story.
