The Institute

Author's note: This document is intended to offer a general background on the Institute. There are many other topics about the Institute Universe that are not detailed in the following, but I assume your imagination will be able to fill in the gaps.

Several hundred years ago a group of men concluded ignorance was the primary reason sex was such a taboo subject. Why else would people try so hard to deny what clearly brought pleasure and enjoyment to a vast majority of the population? Additionally, they realized that sex, like most other activities, could be practiced by instinct. Yet, given the proper opportunity and environment sex could also be learned.

After studying the matter extensively they concluded that sexual prowess is somewhat limited by natural abilities and instinct, but more by an individual's willingness to try new things. They found that most people performed well below their potential and that the sexual learning curve is steep, but blazingly fast.

Through experimentation, they learned that sexual satisfaction could be significantly improved through brief tutoring sessions in which sex and courtship were openly discussed. This instruction seemed most effective when administered soon after the onset of puberty so that participants are instinctively curious about sex, but had yet to solidify their opinions or expectations. Additionally, students seemed to learn faster and more thoroughly from instructors they found at least moderately attractive who were within five years of their age.

This group of men established and become the first teachers at the Institute, a place where young men and women were offered a diverse education that included the study of all things sexual. These men later took the tile of Doceo, Latin for 'I teach' and their students went on to become the world's first Docents, which comes from the same Latin root meaning to teach but more commonly associated with a guide.

Upon graduation, these individuals returned home and often offered private tutoring to supplement their income. Eventually, these tutoring sessions became more profitable then their day-job, and many became full-time Docents. Primarily targeting adolescents, these Docents frequently accepted older clients and couples.

Initially, there were some fervent, and at times violent, objections to the Institute's teachings, but the Docents persevered. Within fifty years the Institute became firmly established in Europe. Within a hundred they had a near global presence with training facilities all over the world.

Currently, being trained by a Docent is a key tool for easing the transition into adulthood for about 70% of the adolescent population. This has greatly reduced sexual ignorance and adolescents rarely stumble their way towards sexual maturity though painful experimentation.

While the age of consent laws for both sex and alcohol still exist in some countries, all of them include exceptions for Docents and their clients. Additionally, the Institute maintains a very detailed set of rules governing the Docent/client relationship. The most important of which are that sex is never guaranteed in a client's contract and that, except in very small towns, a Docent cannot accept a client whom they can be reasonably expected to see on a regular basis (i.e., they live in the same neighborhood or go to the same school). At the same time, Docents may not flaunt their status and it is considered incredibly rude to ask someone if they are or were a Docent.

With such a large base of very impressionable clients, the Institute wields an amazing amount of power and influence. Some say "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." However, the Institute has remained relatively neutral throughout its 300+ year existence. Indeed, the Institute is one of the few organizations that maintained its monopoly and managed to gradually spread so that it now has global representation and support.

In many ways, the Institute has more in common with a religious organization than a "secret society" as most of its policies and practices are commonly known and well documented. The Institution has Elite members, elaborate traditions, a rich history, and symbolic adornments used by its members. However, the institution does not advocate any one ideology other than the elimination of ignorance wherever possible and especially in regards to the formerly taboo subject of sex.

Potential Docents are selected for their empathy, healthy sex drive, and eagerness to share what knowledge they learn at the Institute. There is not enough time for Initiates to absorb everything they'd need to know as a Docent during their year of formal training at the Institute. Instead, Institute training focuses on developing a way of viewing the world and instilling a quest for knowledge that is reinforced and expanded throughout their career.

In addition to sexual training, the Institute curriculum is very broad and includes coursework on courtship, etiquette, dance, and self defense. Additionally, there are special seminars offered on recognizing clients years later and improving sexual skills (including endurance, stamina, and cumming on command). Initiates are encouraged to explore their sexuality and refine their social skills. Towards this end, many games like Live the Dare were developed to help Initiates become more comfortable around the opposite sex.

Docents constantly receive feedback/guidance from their peers and clients. Once certified, Docent's continue their training by moving into an Institute House where they enroll in the local high school and are actively mentored by the older Docents they live with. They are slowly exposed to clients by assisting with group tutoring sessions and gradually build up to accepting clients on a one-on-one basis (private tutoring sessions, 19-hour Docent Dates, etc.).

One of the main ways Docents can relax, vent their frustrations, refine their skills, and share new ideas without having to worry about negative client reviews is by going to a Docent Lounge. Docent Lounges are typically found at most major airports, are only available to Institute staff, and generally includes a cozy restaurant, small bar, and plenty of private rooms.

Docents generally have rather short careers from around age 14-20, before moving on to other pursuits or accepting a full-time position within the Institute. This age range is ideal as clients are usually 14-16 and tend to have strong preferences for a Docent who is either of a similar age or 3-5 years older.

A Docent's commission is based on their experience and overall client rating. Docents earn a substantial fraction of their commission and most can easily pay for college, buy a car, and put a sizable down payment on a house when they retire.

It is important to remember Docents are not required to have sex with clients, Docents or clients can say 'no' at any point, and the rules against rape still apply. It is extremely rare that by the time a client feels they are ready for the services of a Docent that they have to tell them to stop. Additionally, it is almost unheard of for a male client to tell their Docent to stop and in most cases the male Docent is well aware of just how far the client is comfortable going and will not intentionally push these limits.

One of the most common questions from outsiders is, "If sex is not required, what exactly do Docents teach?" This depends entirely on what the client most needs to learn. However, in general both male and female Docents attempt to expose the client to a wide variety of dating situations, help the client clearly define their current sexual limits, and teach them how best to please their partner and themselves sexually.

Often group tutoring sessions are supplemented by a Docent Date (16-19 hours) or Weekend (36 hours) so that the client gets a better idea of what a casual date may feel like in multiple settings. A Docent may offer suggestions to stretch the client's current limits, but will not force a client to do anything they are uncomfortable with. Conversely, a Docent will not criticize or judge a client's sexual preferences, but they may refuse to participate.

In general, male Docents attempt to show the clients what to expect and watch out for on future dates. This includes how a 'proper gentleman' should behave, common 'dating traps' to be aware of, and tips on flirting so that women can attract the type of guy they are looking for. A vast majority of the Docent's time is spent helping the client explore their current limits in a non-threatening way get them to think about what to do if someone crosses these limits or attempts to move the relationship too quickly.

Female docents usually act in more subtle ways, carefully controlling their body's reaction so as to frustrate any overeager male client and force them to take things slowly. A female Docent will try to guide the client as to how she, and presumably other women, would like to be treated. They attempt to teach the client at least a small fraction of the subtle gestures and actions men can to do make dating a more enjoyable, and perhaps more successful, experience. Additionally, because sex is not guaranteed, male clients have a vested interest in not only paying attention to the Docent, but attempting to incorporate their suggestions lest they be sent home both sexually frustrated and still virginal. Though female Docents not offering sex is significantly rarer than most male clients realize, the threat has been a remarkable motivator thus far and so the Institute has done nothing to dispel this rumor.

While much of what male and female Docents teach overlap, it is really up to the client to determine how much effort they want to put in or knowledge they want to take away from the experience. After fulfilling a commission, a client may be affectionately referred to by a Docent as a 'Little Sister' or 'Little Brother.' This is because it as if they have joined a very large family of people trained by the Institute. It is not uncommon for a former client to ask a Docent for relationship or sexual advice at a later date, though usually not the Docent who trained them. Note, it is extremely rare, though not expressly forbidden, for Docents to have additional sexual contact with a client they've trained.

The second most common question used to be, "What about pregnancy?" One of the Institute's most profitable inventions is a one time birth control shot that makes sperm and eggs infertile, is 100% reversible, and can easily be verified by a simple saliva test. All potential Docents receive this shot before arriving at the Institute for training. Additionally, the Institute made the shot publicly available back in the early 90's and it quickly became the most popular form of birth control. These days you are likely to find color changing "test sticks" that quickly and accurately determine whether their potential partner is fertile in the places condoms used to be sold.

Note that as individuals became more aware of the risks of unprotected sex STDs became significantly less prevalent. However, in the last ten years Institute researchers have created cures for 99.9% of the known STDs, and freely provide them to the general population. Additionally, the Institute recently developed a fast, accurate, and inexpensive STD test for those that were sexually active ten or more years ago. Therefore, the average person is not considered remotely at risk for contracting a STD and should they be exposed it's relatively simple to cure them.

Occasionally we get the question, "How do Docents and clients always seem to cum at the same time?" While an extremely difficult skill to learn, all Docents master their ability to control when they orgasm. There's actually a game played at the Institute called 'Ready Go' in which trainees take turns playing Docent/client. At any point after penetration the 'client' can orgasm or fake one by saying 'go' and the Docent has 5 seconds to cum or they lose.

Another common question is, "What about piercings or other fetishes?" This is usually a very biased question if asked, but it is important to realize that all things and attitudes sexual or otherwise are respected. Part of a Docent's training includes sampling a majority of the known fetishes so that they can better explain them to future clients. However, the client is the one that must bring up these fetishes and it is entirely the Docent's choice as to whether they want to actually participate beyond a verbal explanation.

In general docents are allowed any piercing or tattoos they wish. In fact, about 30% of all Docents have tongue piercings, and about 10% have at least one tattoo. However, these body modifications may limit the clients they are able to accept. This is especially true for genital piercings among male Docents as in most cases they can no longer accept virginal clients. This is offset by the strong minority of clients who prefer Docents with a tattoo, piercing(s), and/or other fetish expertise.

Note that as people become more aware of sex, most of the former taboo fetishes grew more acceptable. Specifically some of the "darker" kinks like S/M and body modification are gaining more acceptance. Interestingly, once more effective birth control was introduced, the incest taboo started to fade. While not common as long-term relationships, adolescent sexual experimentation among siblings is generally accepted though usually not encouraged.

One last common question is, "What about sexual orientation?" On most issues the Institute strives to remain neutral. However, the study of all things sexual includes a thorough study of all orientations. As in most aspects of training, actual experience is encouraged but Docents only participate up to the level they are comfortable with. Also note that while a vast majority of adolescent Docents are straight, a good portion of older Docents are bisexual. Perhaps this is because older Docent's are more secure in their own sexuality. More likely, it is because most college age and adult clients are seeking a knowledgeable partner to help them try something new or to confirm their current sexual orientation in a private and confidential environment.

Clients tend to be inexperienced or virginal men and women aged 13-16. However, there are a substantial portion of older clients who had lack luster or negative sexual experience(s) and wish to find out what sex is supposed to be like. Additionally, there is a sizeable minority of adult clients wishing to either again enjoy the services of a Docent or wanting to expand on their already developed sexual knowledge.

Regardless of age and previous sexual experience, becoming a client is a rather time intensive process that starts with a health screening and computer adaptive survey that tries to determine the potential clients actual preferences and needs. The client screening and Docent matching process can take anywhere from weeks to over a year. While wealth is not a requirement, it will speed up this process and help ensure that the Docent is not just a good but near a perfect match.

The health screening is especially vital for female clients as the Institute strongly believes that even their first time should be as pleasurable as possible. All clients are surreptitiously measured during the gynecological exam portion to ensure that the Docent is a reasonable fit. Additionally, all Docents are extensively trained on how to prepare, and if necessary distract, their clients so that they can focus on the more pleasurable aspects of their time together.

While never publicly published, every client is required to fill out a rather thorough review survey detailing the Docents performance and, more importantly, the quantity and quality of knowledge they learned from the experience. However, one of the most controversial series of questions on the exit interview revolve around the following, "If given the opportunity, would you accept the invitation for an evening (i.e., sex) with a Docent?" While non-official exit interviews claim the positive response rate is only about 33 percent, on the Institute's actual customer satisfaction review, more than 90% respond affirmatively.

Surprisingly, given former clients eagerness for a repeat evening with a Docent, a vast majority of the people dating Little Brothers and Sisters are comfortable with Docents hanging out and even flirting with their "significant other." This is because the Institute has invested a significant effort into developing this trust and has a well known policy against any Docent sharing the physical aspect of 'all things sexual' (those actions resulting or intended to result in orgasm) with any non-client who admits or is known to be in a relationship. The repercussions for breaking this policy are quite severe and all involve a public apology by the Docent. Thus while Docents tend to flirt outrageously with Little Brothers and Sisters, it is extremely rare that things will progress past this point unless they are known to be single.

The client reviews are used for a variety or purposes including indicating room for improvements to the Docent's teaching style and determining the Docent's future commission price. Around age 17, Docents with consistently high ratings are reviewed to see if they are qualified for Elite status. Surprising to most, during the Elite review sexual prowess is actually given a very low weight as it assumed that all candidates have very high ratings from former clients. More important is the Docent's ability to connect and form strong, if temporary, bonds with the client and to convey complex and often embarrassing information in an efficient and interesting manner. In most cases, the nomination for Elite status is obvious. However, if there is any question the candidate will be assigned a client that is actually a freshly certified Docent to offer an "expert" opinion.

Each year, less than one percent Docents are deemed Elite and they are allowed to flaunt their status by wearing an Institute ring with a unique intricately carved stone, often imperial jade. This ring is commonly referred to as the Elite's Iugum and is a physical symbol of the bond Elites share with the Institute. Once accepted, an Elite will never remove their Iugum except for medical reasons, to have it professionally serviced by someone at the Institute, or to offer it to another.

An Elite will only offer their Iugum to signify an eternal bond, be it soul mate or friendship, but usually more a sign of extreme respect or an acknowledgement of a debt owed. These are always very serious offers as if accepted, the Institute creates a nearly identical duplicate that the recipient must always wear and be returned upon their death. However, even amongst Elites, exchanging Iugum was extremely rare.

Elite status is a very prestigious title that virtually guarantees an amazing experience for the client. This is partially because once raised to Elite status, they are given access to the Docent request database and are allowed to select a client from any region in the world so long as they share a common language and understand the local customs. Because of an Elite's reputation, it is extremely rare that a client would turn down the services of an Elite, even if there was a substantial travel or commission premium involved.

Furthermore, Elites tend to be instinctively trusted by anyone who has ever trained with a Docent and it is well known that wherever an Elite goes, Little Brothers and Sisters will follow. One of the easiest ways to boost the popularity of a business is to have a large number of Elites in their guestbook or to have an Elite as a regular customer. Thus four-star hotels and restaurants are generally eager to offer instant and complimentary services when visited by an Elite with a client. Should these services be satisfactory, the Elite will often pass on positive recommendations in the future and may sign the guest book or leave a wax impression of their Iugum.

Similarly, Little Brothers and Sisters have a strong preference for attending colleges and universities known for attracting Elites. Additionally, Elites tend to be highly educated and have very successful careers in whatever they chose to do in "retirement." Therefore, presenting their Iugum with a serious intent to stay for at least a year usually grants an Elite instant admission to any university or college in the world.

Very few Elites fully retire even though most earn "full retirement status" by age 19, meaning that their Institute managed trust is large enough that they will be able to comfortably live off the interest. Instead, Elites tend to get even more selective as they get older, but most continue to accept a client or two each month. Although there aren't any formal rules or age restrictions on the clients Elites can accept, it should be noted that even in "retirement" Elites tend to accept clients of a similar age.

A client's privacy is a top concern for the Institute. Client surnames are rarely disclosed and it is not uncommon for wealthy or famous clients to arrange for Docent weekends in foreign countries. Additionally, detailed client profiles are only viewed on a need to know basis and most Docents prefer to use the reduced client summary.

Due to the sensitive nature of both the client profiles and satisfaction surveys, the Institute goes to great lengths to ensure confidentiality. In order to assure that sensitive Institute materials were completely secure, the Institute's researchers actually created their own custom computers, operating system, and data exchange systems. These systems allow Docents to near instantly switch to safe mode, effectively securing any Institute data on the machine.

Institute researchers make many products specific to its needs. Some of these products, like more effective birth control and STD treatments are made publicly available. One of the most sought after Institute products are their selection of pornographic and educational videos composed of entirely Elite and Docent casts.

The Pornographic videos are extremely high quality and command a premium price of at least $1,000 each. Furthermore, you must put a $500 deposit before viewing previews for the 10 videos most suited to you based upon your Institute profile. However, most clients are extremely interested in watching at least a sampling of porn. Thus, the Institute also produces more age appropriate videos for these clients, creatively titled 13 through 17, that are only intended for training purposes and are not publicly available.

The educational productions serve a vastly different audience and are sold at a greatly reduced price, usually less than $100 each. Additionally, in an effort the reach a broader audience, the Institute recently created a "Beginners Guide" sample selection that potential and former clients can download for free. The video presents Docents in a very informative and positive light as they offer a wide variety of advice while tying together scenes from the Institute's most popular educational videos (currently includes condensed versions of the female and male masturbation, "Sexual Orientations," "Fetishes," and the "Recommended Positions" videos).

While initial demand nearly crashed the Institute's servers, the "Beginners Guide" is still one of the most downloaded files on the internet. In fact, many clients now report their first real exposure to sex was when their parents told them to watch the Guide. Additionally, since the Guide's release most surveys now find that when asked, "Who would you want to be your first?" the nearly universal answer is, "A Docent."
