Coming of age/do over harem

kungfufool45 ๐Ÿšซ

I spent some time thinking of how to word this because I know there'll be some one who'll link the category search for harems. '1256' that is the amount of harem stories there are under the category search as of 5 minutes ago. That definitely isn't a problem most of the time. But if you're looking for a a specific genre or type searching through that amount of stories isn't helpful. Especially with some authors misslabeling (is that a word?) Intentionally or not. So I'm here asking for harem stories where the mc is a young man coming of age or an old man getting a do over. Please and thank you

@kungfufool45

You can select more than one category in the category search. It will only return those stories with both tags.

Then down below the category tag grid, before you get to the search buttons there are a bunch of other options. The first one is story genre.

If I select the Harem tag and the Coming of Age genre, I only get 36 stories.

Hmm โ€” those look like two separate requests. which might e better served with separate posts. Dunno.

Anyway, a quick search on Harem + DoOver yields 12 stories, one of which is the obvious and excellent Transmogrification of Jacob Hopkins.

I find it interesting that most do-overs end in a couple. Hmm.

@Quasirandom

In 'coming of age', many of aroslav's stories count as well.

Jacob Hopkins is interesting - it violates one of the semi-stated rules of do-overs (time travel into the past). I don't think that's a true rule, but many people seem to.

Starfleet Carl's A True History is a (very unusual) coming-of-age story with a harem: https://storiesonline.net/universe/1159/a-true-history

Cant we have a Coming of Age with Harem without Sci fi, alternate history, extra sensory, mind control and more importantly I.... I..... I....everything done by "I"

Please ignore my bluntness

Well, unless you are criticizing Starfleet Carl for not writing the story you want -- and I don't think you are -- then your comment isn't particularly blunt. You just want a different story, maybe one that is difficult to find on SOL, right?

You say the most important thing is that not everything be done by "I". I'm guessing that means you want more than just that it be written in third person, that you'd like a story where multiple characters are significantly driving the plot, and we get to see things from their perspectives, right?

Also, I'm understanding that you want it without any fantastical elements to justify the formation of a harem around a male character - in other words, the setting is this world, present day or as faithful a reproduction of an earlier time as the author can manage. Both human nature and the culture of the time should be accurately portrayed.

Am I understanding your request correctly?

Man you are spot on, you just worded it more clearly than I could at that moment I posted the comment.

I do not/didn't have the slightest intention of criticizing Starfleet Carl or any other author for their writing.

Yes I would like the story to be without any fantastical elements.

And yes it is very difficult to find(harem{one male with multiple woman}, coming of age without any "fantastical elements" on SOL.

So please if anyone came across any story that fits the bill share the name(please!)

I didn't think any new thread would be necessary since we are looking for the same type of stories(well almost!)

May I suggest the "Stupid Boy" series of stories by G. Younger. He is now in college and the story is "A Better Man", but he isn't betting, at least yet. Not sure David Dawson has a harem all at the same time, but he has had some threesomes and has had five kids by various girls in the stories. Certainly is one male with multiple women.

Alternatively there are "harem" stories by VeryWellAged on this site and his own site and there may be some on ASSTR still. Mostly set in the Philippines, although there is one in the USA involving his hero Jake. However it is not a coming of age story, Jake and various other main characters in other stories tend to be in their 50s, or even older.

Daze in the Valley

Late coming of age. Main Character is a Freshman college student who has debts from the family farm, college etc. In desperation he becomes a male port star. He does accumulate a "harem" but there are several other couples too.

The MC accumulates a harem mostly by showing respect and compassion for various women he encounters.

He and his friends build a business empire by being on time, professional, innovative and empathetic.

It is a plausible, contemporary harem with a large cast of characters, and much more than just sex going on.

Well written and few or no spelling or grammar errors.

Tom Frost's The Billionaire Life. Broke small town nerd finds out at age 18 that he is adopted and the sole heir to a multi-billion dollar trust from his bio-dad.
An 18 year old wannabe socialist finds out he is now one of the biggest capitalists on the planet. So what does he do?
A) He decides to re-enact 'Friends' by inviting his closest friends to move into a New York loft with him, and
B) Pays a bunch of supermodels to play Dungeons & Dragons with him. He quickly finds out that once you have paid the babe-geld you will never be rid of the babes.
Very long and still incomplete, there are multiple references back to his high school years along with a fast character arc to adulthood after receiving the money which comes with a global, ruthless and wealthy extended family. All the characters are fully fleshed out with personalities and back stories of their own.

He wasn't adopted in the way most people would take that, and probably not in a legal sense.

His biological mother was married to the man who raised him and she had an extra-marital affair with the billionaire.

In most US states, a woman's husband at the time she gives birth is legally the father (without requiring adoption) regardless of who the biological father is.

While it's first-person for the most part (or all? in some recent books, there are multiple first-person narrators, and yes it makes sense), Michael Loucks' A Well-Lived Life meets the qualifications in general.

https://storiesonline.net/series/1167/a-well-lived-life

There are mild supernatural elements. Very mild. None of the supernatural elements have anything to do with the multiple-person relationship forming.

Saying anything more about the nature of the eventual relationship(s) would be a spoiler. Seriously.

The story is currently over 20 completed novels and some incredibly high number of words (10 million?). Many, many, many characters, and covering a span of decades by now.

Note that the first ten novels are the coming of age of the original 'first-person narrator'.

Starting with the current series (books 21-), it includes a coming-of-age story for some of the children of the original first-person narrator.

A couple of series by bluedragon: An Ordinary Sex Life and Big Tits Club.

Six Times a Day by Spacer X.

Lazlong's Wagons Ho! -- it's part of a universe which has time-travel, but this novel has no fantastic elements (although it's set in the 19th century).

The Making of a Cocksman by Lubrican.

MacKenzie's Journal by E. Z. Riter, another historical set in the 19th century.

Thanks to all for helping out...

"Six Times a Day by Spacer X" is my set standard, please forgive my lack of knowledge but YES I find it very hard to match something like that especially fitting with criteria like (harem{one male with multiple woman}, coming of age without any "fantastical elements"

I shall try out your suggestions.

By the way is there any Harem story without coming of age but one male and multiple women with conditional sharing of females with other males BUT the idea is "Sir" has the first right to any females! And the acceptation by other males that who is the Harem Master( with married females) is very clear to other males (sorry if I went off topic).
