Modern or Urban Fantasy recommendations

Updated:

I've been on a contemporary fantasy binge for the past few months ever since discovering the Alex Verus novels. I've come across and thoroughly enjoyed these stories listed here as follows:

- My little ventrue by Novus Animus - https://storiesonline.net/s/17526/my-little-ventrue (I'm a big fan of the World of Darkness Universe and am really enjoying this)

- Keeper by Charly Young - https://storiesonline.net/s/24462/keeper

- The Power by El Sol - https://storiesonline.net/s/72250/the-power

Any recommendations within the aforementioned sub-genre would be greatly appreciated. Do note that I'm not averse to any specific tag as long as it falls under contemporary fantasy.

Thanks!

I'm on my phone and linking is a pain, but search the Arc Deco universe here. It is definitely in that Alex Verus (big fan!) / Dresden mold. It's a great series that gets better. Be warned that the fourth and final book (Also the longest) leaves a lot on the table for future use, but it hasn't been updated in years so I think this is all we get.

Oh yeah, I've actually read some of Stultus' works. "Foole's ambition" https://storiesonline.net/s/60580/fooles-ambition-angel-flying-too-close-to-the-ground is a favourite of mine.

Will definitely check out the Arc Deco Series. Thanks again!

Feels Dresdenish. Incomplete but still a good read.

Nice! The synopsis is certainly in line with what I'm looking for. Shame it isn't finished but I'll make do. Thanks again.

It's hard to link quickly on phone, but Anabelle Hawthorn's Home for Horny Monsters sounds like it fits.

You might try Ol'Mac's El of a way to go universe.

This is a Universe populated by all the characters one would find in a clasical fantasy setting. The twist being that the tales are set in modern day "Chicago, IL". The tales themselves are,(normally) a lighthearted romp with enough adrenaline shots to keep your interest. Enjoy the trip, Folks.

Also by Uncle Jim
"The Amulets of Power โ€” A Universe from the Mind of Uncle Jim
These stories take place in a Parallel Universe. The separation point between our Universe and the one in these stories was when the six Amulets arrived on Earth. This was about fifty years before the founding of the Chakri Dynasty in Thailand (6 April 1782)."

There are five stories. I reviewed the fifth one, and liked it a lot.

In dead-tree, you might like most of Tom Holt's humorous fantasy stuff

Funny thing is, I'm a big fan of his works under his pseudonym, KJ Parker. "The folding knife" and "The siege" series are favourites of mine. Honestly, I've never actually taken the time to look novels under his real name, but I will now. Thanks!

Ironically, I also like all the KJ Parker books, but can't stand the T Holt ones and I have tried a few and not managed to get past the first chapter in any of them....LOL
