Any long running fantasy/war novels between empires and kingdoms? Pref male MC, big on political intrigue and huge battles but i'm pretty much open to anything else. Romance is a plus.

There's a set of Damsels In Distress stories revolvinv around a islNd nation in Chaos being founded/taken over by 'heroes', including a war with a pirate nation, would you include that?
I've read mostly everything by jay and i don't really care for short stories even if they are in series form. Honestly what i am looking for is something where the MC is on the younger side, leaves home to join a military organization and keeps getting promoted up to nobility and beyond while having some kind of romance subplot.
War, Epic Battles, Political Intrigue and Romance.

Hunter Johnson's universe The Warlord and the Multiverse should keep you reading for a while. It's got just about everything you asked for.
The Feldare Universe (Premium access required)
Feldare is a wide land, an island-continent roughly the size of Australia, with several large island chains nearby. It sits isolated in the middle of a large ocean, separated by thousands of miles from the main continents of its world. The peoples of the island continent are many and varied. From the hardy humans who have spread over most of its face, to the enigmatic elves, the brutal orcs, and the staid, but reliable halflings. The long history of Feldare began with the first age, the Age of the Elder Race, or elves. It then moved on to two Imperial Ages and is currently 846 years into its fourth age, the Age of Strife.
