I'm looking for stories like Monblade's The Destroyers or Mr. Marvel's Genesis Project.
All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Pretty sure he based his story loosely on SirWinston's Star Dancer.
And Crumbly had a similar series. Cuckoo's Progeny, IIRC, was the first in the trilogy?
There've been a few others, there was a wave of them at one point.

He's also considering another similar story (teens discovering a lost ship hiding almost in plain sight), but we'll see how it pans out.
actually i started that story before i met him on line. It was originally written in a notebook on breaks when i worked in reno at almo rent a car in 93.
Sounds interesting! Where can I find this story? Google not showing me anything similar and nothing here on sol
Tia!
Thanks! I saw this story when I searched SOL but from the description and codes didn't think it was it
His other story also has a hidden spaceship. It gets very dark very quickly, so I didn't finish it. The Spark gets very dark in places but is still a very good read.
It's a few decades old but you might try Weber's Dahak trilogy, about a 50K year old spaceship disquised as a moon ....
Nope, just a Planetoid class battle scout. 4th Imperium battle stations were much larger ....
you've seen all of those posters of sci-fi spaceships, right? I laugh every time I look at them, as Dahak usually outmasses every ship on the poster, combined.
I haven't seen Dahak on any size comparison charts for many years, not even the few that may include Ringworld, Dyson sphere or the Halo 'monsters'. Some few do show Earth's Moon as a background reference - which does give a ballpark size for Dahak.
The last ref towards Dahak or Weber's Empire from the Ashes trilogy was in a 2012 web discussion. Results were awesome size power weapons but kind of sucky FTL ... but still managed to turnback a million plus invasion fleet ...

I vaguely recall a dead tree book, far future, Earth has been reduced to a park and a retirement community.
A group of the retirees finds and awaken an AI controlled alien space craft that had escaped from an interstellar war, but with it's crew wiped out.
It had made an emergency landing on Earth, before the ancestors of humanity first climbed down from the trees and was buried under a large chunk of upstate New York.
In the book someone unhelpfully describes the alien ship as larger than a toaster and smaller than a quasar.
How about a supermarket being scooped up by unknown forces and sent sailing across the galaxy?

You might like to try a serial that's currently in progress - 'Blazing Star' by GreyOldWolf.
AJ
Accidental Commander by TonyG has some of these elements.
Also, Finders Keepers by Shakes Peer2B.
Another good story discovered through this thread. Unfortunately one of the unfinished.....

Nobody has yet mentioned Gina Marie Wylie's The Mission; I think it should be of interest. There is a sequel to it on her BeyondTheFarHorizon site.
