In https://storiesonline.net/s/22004/suddenly-rich-kid (also by Argon) he is not adopted but might as well be, and it fits your requirements better.
In https://storiesonline.net/s/11098/lifeline-drama-story by Jay Cantrell, one of the characters is fostered during the story but she is not the MC.
Moving on to https://storiesonline.net/a/todd-d172 I can think of three which belong together:
- https://storiesonline.net/s/18872/the-shack-an-unreasonable
- https://storiesonline.net/s/19218/the-shack-an-implacable
Number four is on its way.
In https://storiesonline.net/s/62375/texting-seth by Unca D, the MC was adopted as a child (doh!) but is now an adult. She was a difficult child.
The MC in https://storiesonline.net/series/572/impervious by ElSol was adopted, although he does not know that at the start. These are superhero stories.
Kenny the Kansas by Openbook sounds as if it would fit what you seek. MC is adoptive. Story, in 4 books, is about 200 Chapters. I would provide a link, but I don't know how to do that, in spite of efforts by others to teach me (Can't teach an old dog new tricks?).

Bark for yaself, ya spring chicken. This old canine learns real well, sometimes.

Find a link to the story (or author, whichever),by searching for the story or by going to the author's pages and finding the story listing. In either case, put your arrow/cursor over the link, right click, and select 'Copy Link Location.' Now you have it in your Paste buffer and can paste it anywhere you want.
There are also Sammy's Adventures by Fable, a series of nine stories and more than 200 chapters. A link? I tried following the instructions from LonelyDad above so I could provide a link, but I couldn't make it work. Let's face it, I'm a clutz.

The story, 'Making the most of our second chances' by bfrap has two mc.
At one point, one of the MC has talked about the desire of being adopted by the family of the other MC. She later changes her mind.
