Double eagles

Jason Samson ๐Ÿšซ

So I'm enjoying Flossie's Revenge and then they discover some valuable antique rifles and a large amount of double-headed eagles!

This is a plot I know I have come across before!

Ghost and Recluse.

The Mallard Inheritance.

Can we make a list of all the stories that find civil-war treasure and/or guns, in case I've missed any?

@Jason Samson

A quick search shows 96 stories containing "double eagles", could be a long list.

Without resorting to a quick search, one springs readily to mind, i.e. The Hillside by Jay Cantrell. One of my favorite stories here.

I believe "101 Bell Whistle" by JimWar also qualifies

Argon ๐Ÿšซ

There is one by The Scot:

where a Civil War era treasure is found in cave. Only read it when you have lots of time :o)

I thought he found a Greek treasure.

I may have that confused with Life is Uncertain, Eat Dessert First.

Magestic has several different treasures found from different eras, it's not a focal point of the story, but it is in there.

big R

I went looking for the author, who has 50 stories on the site, and found Big-R. Most of them looked interesting.

My other comment about my search of authors whose names start with B is that Benjamin Franklin is also a SOL author, and has an email account so you can send him messages! There must be an email time machine.

Upon further recollection, I reviewed the gambling story (and also one of Benjamin Franklin's stories). How soon we forget what we have read.

I enjoyed the story and recommend it to others. It is basically a romance, but with gambling and business operations added. If you like to read about people doing well and having good sex, this may be a story you will enjoy. It isn't a stroke story, but the hero does well with several of the women he meets.

Doing the numbers, 6 a "C", average. 7 is a "B", good. 8 is an "A", very good. Plot is an 8. There is a lot of it and there are a few surprises. Technical is a 6, average. "To" for "too" and other issues there is no point in reciting. It doesn't spoil the story but I can't bring myself to call it higher than a 6. Appeal is an 8, very good.

This is an older story, from 2001, you can tell because the girl he wins in a poker game turns out to be 13. She says she is 17 and he gets her a birth certificate that says she is 21, but you won't see a newer story on SOL with a female this young these days. I found it because it turned up in the stories from the past at the top of the front page. If you didn't see it there, there isn't much chance you would read it, buried in the 41,000 other stories on the site. That's what reviewers are for, to give some publicity to stories you might otherwise never see."

I think you went a bit high with the 6, I couldn't make it through the first chapter trying to wade through the sentence fragments and just general lack of structure.
