Just a Good Read!!!!

I have read many stories here on SOL and enjoyed many which are well known. I want to recommend a series which I believe is long forgotten as I haven't seen it on any Favorite Author Lists or any notice in these Forums. It is a good coming of age story but includes many areas of college life, business areas, and life of the privilege few of the 1960's and 1970's. I am saddened that the author has passed so we can expect no more but what he has left us should be read and enjoyed. The authors writing is superb with few spelling errors but a few missed pronouns. Just an exciting and riveting tale.

And the author is rougher63. I believe Howie Randolph and Howard Randolph are the same author.

@samuelmichaels

Is your belief that Howie Randolf, Howard Randolf, and rougher63 all being the same author based on actual knowledge of the author or is it based on similarities of writing styles? I am just curious and thankful if it is true.

It was ok, moved a little to fast for my taste. if anyone is planning on reading it, read it slowly, don't binge it, the story moves way to fast for a binge read.

But it wasn't when I read it. You posted your update while I wrote, so my answer came slightly too late (2 min, 28 sec). :(

I vaguely recall same story posted under different names (possibly at different times. But I can't find that, so it may be just similarity in styles.

I believe they are, in fact, the same writer. The Howie stories used to be longer, with more about the LA area. I was in contact with Rougher63 some years back. He was a prof at Gettysburg college and was suffering from cancer, so he may be gone(probably). He also wrote a story about a young man named John Ball (JEB), but I can't find it. Rougher 63 doesn't tespond to email.

@bubbag

From his profile on SOL..

rougher63 passed away April 2015 when his bone marrow transplant failed. A CPA and PhD, he was smart, witty, and determined to research the background to make his stories more realistic, and he never bought into the blow-by-blow sex scenes many SOL authors write.

Does anyone else here in the forums have a suggestion for a missed story (not on any of the standard best of lists) that I might enjoy without many of the so called blow-by-blow sex scenes. Thanks for any referrals. :)
