I would love some recommendations on stories with mystery in them such as a mysterious family history or hidden treasure or an old undiscovered ruin or something I liked and have read all earnest bywater ones such as the story where the mc inherets a cabin and finds a hidden basement of antiques also I've looked at the mystery tag I'm looking for more stories that aren't tagged but have some of this element another I loved was the story where the mc owner a newyork building and found a private subway for the rich or the myst story where they found that ancient airship. Sex content is not relevant to my search

I thought of JimWar's 101 Bell Whistle and Bell Whistle's Secrets, both of which are in the Mystery genre; I don't know if it's possible to list just stories in a particular genre, but if it is, then that's a good place to look.

ETA: There's also a Mystery tag, so a premier membership would let you search for only these.

Thanks I have read those and loved both just the type of story I'm looking for i have looked through most things on the mystery tag I'm looking for stuff that isn't tagged but still has that element.

Do you consider whodunits as qualifying?

I've been trying to remember the author and title of one, part of a series, in which there's a shootout at a lighthouse and the protagonist is wounded.

Sounds like one of Stacatto's stories (maybe Houseboat?). Unfortunately, he pulled his novels off SOL a while back. He still has a novella and some short stories though.

Could be Crescent then. It seems like it was from that series. My guess is that he tried (or maybe even succeeded) in getting them published for pay.

BTW, your serial, Gay qualifies, as there is an excellent mystery component to it.

Ouch! Every occasion I manage to free up some time to work on it, disaster strikes. I liberated Sunday evening for that purpose and was rewarded with a 3 hour power cut. (My elderly XP machine is a mini tower. No power, no machine).

I hate disappointing readers. Two of my stories have the dreaded yellow strip and I desperately don't want a third.

I meant to reboot my PC last night because virtual memory problems were causing familiar strange effects. My power company did it for me this morning. Fortunately this power cut was only a matter of seconds.

I remember reading the story about the subway,in the last 6 months,also had concealed arms at another property,also had something to do with the yakuza.and mercanery battle in the city,big dance studio at MC residence with dungeon for sex high jinks.

Dual Writers Recluse and Ghost story has elements you may enjoy. It has a mystery on the mountain based on a few family stories that get seen to a laid to rest during the course of the tale.

It takes awhile before the deeper mystery pops up but its worth reading the story I think you may enjoy it.
