On perusing the story's title and description, readers unfamiliar with BarBar's excellent 'Bec' series are likely to give this a miss, or give up after the first chapter. And at first it is hard to see where the story is going. But now it seems to be settling down nicely into a hybrid of 'Bec' and A.A. Nemo's also excellent 'Jacob's Granddaughters'.
If you're looking for something a bit different, give it a try. I'm certainly not regretting it.

I'm not a fan of historical fiction so I've swerved much of his output. But I can thoroughly recommend a story in progress - Mob Princess. I'm aware it integrates with other Argon stories that I haven't read yet and will be added to my reading list for when time permits.

Mob Princess is the fourth in the Philadelphia Stories Universe, that started with Can't Pick Your Family. They are great stories.

Oh, I've read all his other non- Anthony Carter stories and am a fan of his. I just have been waiting for the story to build up some more chapters before starting.
Thank you for your recommendation. I had passed this by as the intro didn't appeal to me. Based on your comment here I opened it up…. Finished the last chapter 12 hours later. A wonderful story.
