Female Protagonist

Tirkaru ๐Ÿšซ

Does anyone know good and long story that are written from the female perspective?

@Tirkaru

I had a nice long reply mostly composed when I fat-finger deleted it (don't ^W to undo last edit in Firefox - it closes the tab). However, I refer you to this older thread and this one. Also, on BtFH Bruce Bretthauer still has his Gina Stone trilogy up (Counterfeit Line, Different World, Body of Evidence).

Tia's Game by Tailweaver, and Tasty Little Pop Tart has a couple of longish ones, off the top of my head.

Pretty much anything my Janna Leonard is from the female perspective, so Nollie and Shirley Jean represent longer stories.

Gina Marie Wylie's Laura Alban Hunt is unfinished, but a typically good story, nonetheless.

I'm fond of my own Charley and Claire.

Quasirandom's Kiss the Girls

I'm going to throw out a dead tree recommendation.

If you don't mind urban fantasy/paranormal, look up the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.

Should these be stories written in the First Person? Some of the above are Third Person stories with female MCs, the Bruce Bretthauer ones for example.

https://storiesonline.net/a/todd-d172 writes FP stories sometimes and some of them have female MCs,
- https://storiesonline.net/s/16387/the-marker (sort of in The Shack)
- https://storiesonline.net/s/16989/learning-the-smugglers-blues (part of The Shack)
- https://storiesonline.net/s/15835/tales-from-the-shack-necessary-evil
- https://storiesonline.net/s/16264/the-shack-a-parable-of-wolves
- https://storiesonline.net/s/26246/the-shack-the-milk-run (a babysitting gig)

- https://storiesonline.net/s/15346/the-harpy (male perspective)
- https://storiesonline.net/s/23603/relentless-by-todd-d172 (follows on, female perspective)

The whole of https://storiesonline.net/universe/921/tales-from-the-shack is excellent but a large part does not fit your specific requirement.

Leaving Todd aside, what about https://storiesonline.net/universe/380/bec-lost-in-the-maze ? (although much of Bec4 is from her shrink's perspective)

All solid to excellent stories, except I can't read Hamilton anymore, Gentry is good early Blake is good and then she jumped the shark and I haven't picked up or read a new book in almost a decade.

yep,, I too couldn't finish/follow. But I did catch the series about 2or 3 books in, so I was waiting for the next book and just stopped. Could be the internet's fault

Yeah, started well, but I didn't care for the ending.

Both Melissa's Secrets and Beth are incest/group sex stories from a female perspective. The first is unfinished the other is finished but much, much too long - 278 chapters and a couple million words, not including the other girl-centric story in the Beth Universe.

I highly recommend the 'Winter's Universe' series by, arguably, the most talented writer on this site. Here's one link:

You're welcome.

Not to be confused with the Wynter Universe, later becoming the "Wynter/ Trailer Park" Universe, when Russell Hoisington shared characters with Wizard.

Also in DTP, Bujold McMaster's Shards of Honor, Barrayar, Komarr (IIRC) & Gentleman Jole and The Red Queen all have a female protagonist MC.

If we remove the "long" requirement, "Jirel of Joiry" perhaps? Or "Tam Lin"?

Mary Gentle's Ash A Secret History is an alternate universe series with a female mercenary as the the MC.
