Looking for stories similar to Refusenik's stories

I was doing my nth re-reading of those stories and wondered if there are any similar ones involving ordinary people having something extraordinary or even extraterrestrial happening to them and how that improves their life. Bonus if it's a feel good story.

Well, I'm currently on my Nth re-read of Deja Vu Ascendancy by AscendingAuthor, and the MC starts as depressingly ordinary when one event, which the MC struggles to understand, sets off a whole series of more and more extreme happenings culminating in whatever life he wants. Not really a feel-good (I'm getting close to the part which always brings some tears to my eyes), but certainly ends upbeat and hopeful.

Another would be Runaway Train by Jay Cantrell, which starts with again a quite ordinary event which snowballs, giving the MC a much better life.

I've read Runaway Train and it might be time for a re-read! I've been putting off reading Dejavu ascendancy due to its length and if it's starts depressingly then maybe another time.

I remember a story about an AI disguised as a meteorite crashes through a teenage boy's bedroom window and melds with him. Don't remember much else.

Demigod by Vax. How Jacob Bourque changed from moderately talented high school student to one of the most powerful beings in the universe.

There are the several Reward stories where ordinary people are give godlike powers.

My story: Aztlan Portal
There is a mix of ordinary people, soldiers, and elite "Operators" (Special Operations personnel), their lives are effected, both for good and bad, by an alien invasion.

A young Mexican civil engineer grows in maturity, and dares things he never imagined, a Sicario, betrayed by the Mexican Army, also gains new opportunities, as does a young woman working for her father's corporation, and a young man barely in his teens, he is enslaved (more like a "Jannisary"), but the aliens also give him justice for his murdered brother (something the Mexican government didn't even try to do) and opportunities for advancement he never thought he would have. Several officers in the Mexican Army eventually get opportunities for advancement on merit, they would never have in the peacetime Mexican Army.

Characters from the USA are mostly members of Special Operations (or those who provide services to them); several individuals do get opportunities they would not likely have had if the aliens didn't invade.

Its not exactly like Refusnik's stories, since I am telling a story about Asymmetrical Warfare, without violating any NDAs, etc.

It sounds interesting but the story is marked incomplete. Or is it mislabeled?

If you didn't spot where it's mentioned above, a quick Forum Search on the author name will give you another site it's at.

Coming soon - someone will upload refusenik's stories into an AI, then ask it to write more stories in the same style.

I wonder when the first 'story site' will appear that allows you to give some parameters and it generates a story for you instead of presenting you with stories written by real authors.

Gawd I hope not… current chat gpt is in desperate need of a GOOD editor that can trim 50% of the words it writes … it's currently excellent at producing fluff pieces, filled with more useless words than a teenager trying to achieve a 10,000 word paper requirement….

Bound to get stellar scores on SOL then, where bloat seems to be well rewarded ;-)
