New Do Over

red61544 ๐Ÿšซ

Lisa Devereaux has started a new do over that, at first glance, seems really interesting. The title is "Here I Go Again: My Second Chance". https://storiesonline.net/s/30882/here-i-go-again-my-second-chance According to her blog, she has several stories in the works so updates may be a while in coming. But if do overs are your thing, you might want to give it a try.

It's OK so far but the chapters need to be longer.

That's a common problem i've found reading things online here because i'm a fast reader, i rarely read new stories and i rarely read any completed ones below 500kb's

It's also available in Bookapy, although going from the reviews, while most people like it, it ends on a Cliffhanger, and the entire thing is just 4 weeks of events

I bought the completed book on Bookapy. It was an entertaining story to read, but way to short. After reading the writers blog post we might have to wait years for the second book since she has so many uncompleted works. That is my biggest pet peeve about online authors. They start writing and posting multiple stories and most never complete them. I honestly feel that a story should not be posted until it is fully finished. But I guess if that where the case SOL would only be about one tenth its size today if only completed stories were posted on here.

It would be particularly hard on epic stories.

I didn't start posting Variation on a Theme until I had Book 1 complete, because that way I would be certain 1) I could finish a book and 2) readers would get at least one complete book.

However, if I'd had to write four books before starting? That would never happen. And the story itself will be incomplete at four books. I could always write an epilogue and tie up a zillion loose ends, but that's cheating, in a way.

On the other hand, I'm not writing anything else of epic size anytime soon. The division of effort is likely the most frustrating part.

An intriguing concept and I'm keen to see where it leads. Seven chapters in the first fortnight then none in the next fortnight. However it's now started posting on Scifistories, where it was updated yesterday to Chapter 5.
