Info Pages on 'Universes'

I'm working on 2 different stories right now that are intended to be 'launch points' for "shared Universes" other writes would be welcome to add to (with the strong desire that they do so).

And years ago I was part of a still popular shared universe.

I would love to contain all the info for it here on SOL if possible, if I ever get the stories out...

And that's got me thinking about where I would put the info for writers who wanted to know the "setting rules" and the "setting info / how to contribute" details.

So here's my feature request, to be refined hopefully by any replies:

It'd be really nice if the site here, on the "universes" section, had the ability for a universe owner to put up 2 info files:

1. Info on the world + how to participate
2. Rules on canon / not-canon

You could do that by posting them as a story, but then people would start scoring them unless you disabled that, which would then hide them from search defeating some of their utility.

There already are documents resembling what you want but I have no idea how to submit them to SOL.

Yeah thank you. That's exactly what I'm looking for but I too am so far unable to figure out how those are made.

All I got for a clue was than when I went to:

I get a notice about 'no articles found'. So I went looking for info on 'articles' but came up blank.

Hopefully someone who does know how to make those will pop in with a tip. :)

It looks like the suggestion from Keet above points to the feature that at least two authors managed to use. So we might just need help in knowing what they did. :)

It looks to me like something they manually arranged with Lazeez to provide a link to the document in the universe description. I wouldn't call that a feature and would probably not work so great if everyone with a universe went that route.

My reader's guide started out as a planning document to describe D-Hopping and define the Multiverse's government, culture, legal structure, and other aspects of a complex society that is very different from Earth. I intended to use it as a guide when writing my stories about the Multiverse.

When I decided it would be a good document for my readers, I formalized it as a description of the Multiverse and D-Hopping and then tried to post the reader's guide as if it were a story. Lazeez contacted me and informed me that files like mine weren't allowed to be posted. He understood why I wanted to provide my readers with the information and he put the file on SOL and provided the link to the document that is in my Universe description.

So we might just need help in knowing what they did.

They sent me the text and I inserted into the database manually. I had started working on an article mechanism for pages like that but I found the need counter productive to certain things, so I never deployed it.
