I would like to change the name Forum to Discussions.
My problem with Forum is that reminds me of Against um, where a lot of posts are against what a prior post said.

Here is a definition of Forum:
"noun plural -rums or -ra (-rΙ™)
a meeting or assembly for the open discussion of subjects of public interest
a medium for open discussion, such as a magazine
a public meeting place for open discussion
a court; tribunal
(in South Africa) a pressure group of leaders or representatives, esp Black leaders or representatives
(in ancient Italy) an open space, usually rectangular in shape, serving as a city's marketplace and centre of public business"

I suspect the definition is in British English since it spells "center" as "centre".

I've never heard of the aforementioned place, so it's not an issue for me. I always associated forums with the Romans, and as a place where the toga wearing work-shy go to recover from the previous nights orgy, and where they shout, sorry discourse, a lot and when the Emperor (Lazeez) gets tired of their moaning, again-sorry, debate, he has them killed. Except I don't think that's legal and probably frowned upon in Canada these days, so he bans them instead...possibly...

'Open discussion' does not mean the people involved in the discussion agree with each other. Typically, they don't.

And if they did, this Forum would be boring and useless.

Whether you call it a Forum or a Discussions, it's how the disagreements are presented that matter. The Twitter-bully way or the polite-constructive way.

Twitter-bully

That sort of thing is insane to me. Just turn the machine off if it bothers you. Nothing pisses a bully off like ignoring them. It's not like they will show up at your front door to punch you in the face. In my estimation they are too much of a coward to do something like that without a crowd backing them.

Even after more than 30 years of online history the phrase 'Don't Feed the Trolls' is still quite applicable.

Agreed. My son has my attitude towards this. So I don't worry about him.
But there has been a teen girl in my class that took it to heart enough that she ended her life over it.
Parents need to pass on a bit of fuck you attitude to their children instead of follow the crowd.

Go ahead. I'm sure Laz would appreciate you paying him money for the naming rights, like they do for sporting stadiums. You pay him enough, I'm sure he'd even call it Mary Sue for you.

Are you really so naive as to believe that changing a name actually changes what it is?

Shell Shock - Battlefield Fatigue- PTSD

Changing the name changed how it was perceived but didn't change what it is at all.

If you wish to see all the replies agreeing with the OP then you are NOT going to enjoy a discussion either.

Alternatively, why not start a thread that EVERYONE would agree with?

Oh, and if you look up the definition of "discussion", one of the examples is, "A Forum"

I think the solution offered by Starfleet Carl is your best option. For the bargain price of just $100,000.00 annually (Plus tax, paid in advance) Lazeez might well add a forum just for you. And to ensure nobody ever posts a view opposing the OP, it will ONLY be visible to you.

If I had my own forum with only me posting, I'd probably not agree with myself sometimes. :P

That's just me. I like to take the other side sometimes.

Actually, AJ isn't that keen on anal sex.

But he loves the taste of the flavoured lube I use.

annually or annulusly ??

I know you try to keep your agricultural fetish private, but posting your habit of rotating mouth, vagina and anus yearly is bound to give you away by linking sexual habits and crop rotation practises.

annularly?

annular | ˈanjʊlΙ™ |
adjective technical
ring-shaped: complex craters have uplifted central structures surrounded by an annular trough and a fractured rim.
DERIVATIVES
annularly adverb
ORIGIN
late 16th century: from French annulaire or Latin annularis, from anulus, annulus 'a ring'.

annular trough and a fractured rim.

I thought an anal fractured rim was called a hemorrhoid.

The question is, if you bleach your annular, does that mean you're changing your ring tone?

Personally, I would like to see the word Polite added just to remind folks that we should be courteous in our forum of discussion.

Perhaps it should be spelled for rum.

"Did pirates drink rum?

Yes. They did. Pirates often started out as military sailors, who developed a taste for rum when it was distributed in the Navy. The Caribbean was a hotbed of piracy and instead of having to wait for their daily tot of rum from their superiors, pirates could drink it whenever they pleased."

So pirates were for rum.

Of course the pie rate was the same as for corn, a buck an ear.

@richardshagrin

"Did pirates drink rum?

Yes. They did.

Mostly at sea they drank grog, which was a diluted rum.

It was common in the past for people to drink watered wine or other diluted alcoholic beverages.

The purpose of this was not to dilute the alcohol, but to use the alcohol to disinfect the water as drinking straight water could be dangerous due to bacteria in the water.
