I posted a message today and in doing so I made the mistake of posting to the wrong person. It would be nice if the message field included a "To: line before the 'Subject' line to indicate who you are directing the post to.

When posting a message in a Forum thread there is a 'Post As:' box, but no 'To:' box.
I thought you were talking about sending someone a message from the Forum (clicking on the envelop). My error.

There is a 'To' field but it's pre-completed and can't be changed.

That's when you click the envelop icon to send someone a private message. That's what I thought @Rep was talking about. But I think he's talking about replying to someone's post in the Forum using the reply icon (the crooked arrow).
That's never been a problem for me. What I've encountered as a problem is if I have something highlighted in one post and reply to another post. It copies the highlighted words to the other post.
Your right. I reread my original post and I found that I was not clear about posting to a Forum thread.
I was thinking of the Forum, but if you think it appropriate for other message windows I wouldn't have a problem with it.
