I have noticed lately that when I exit a story in the middle or end of a story that when I the next time I access the story, my display is position to the point where I exited the story. This is a nice feature and I really appreciate it!
However, I am rereading Banadin's The Richard Jackson Saga and I am always returned to the start of the chapter regardless of where I was at when I exited the story.
Has anyone else noticed this, is it just me, or something with the site?

I tested that story and it behaved exactly like the others.
One thing you need to keep in mind with the return to position feature, if you reach the bottom of a story or chapter, the saved scroll position is reset to zero so if you go back to a story/chapter after reaching the bottom, you'll end up on top and it won't scroll.

Follow up question about the feature: sometimes I'll jump to the last chapter (usually to check the comments) then return to my current chapter. When I do this, sometimes the current reading position gets stuck as being the last chapter and sometimes gets set as my return chapter, in a pattern I haven't figured out. What's the best way to trigger resetting to the return chapter?

That happens only in bookmarked stories. When you visit a chapter, it becomes the position in the story.
To move the chapter marker in the bookmark, go to the chapter you're reading and when you reach the bottom, click the 'bookmark next' link. The bookmark will move to the chapter after the one you were reading.

For it to reset the position, you would have literally reach the bottom and can't scroll anymore. If there are still few pixels below the bottom of the screen, then the reset doesn't happen.
