Glitch in Advanced Search

awnlee jawking ๐Ÿšซ

I entered the word rage in the description field and started the search. It returned 493 matches.

Wanting only rage and not strings containing rage such as encouraged, I amended the search to " rage ". It returned 40 matches. The first two pages were fine, although not what I had hoped for, but the third page was blank with the message "Sorry, no matching stories were found". I ran the search again and this time the second page gave the message. The third page was fine but the fourth page gave the message.

Adding spaces around search terms doesn't work so well because the script strips them before putting them in the URL for the next/previous pages.

I added a fifth option for the description search 'Entire Words' which works around the issue. If you use it and use multiple words, it will find whole words only, but in the exact order.

Search for entire words for [rage against the machine] won't find [rage machine against the world] for example, but it will find [rage bloomed against the angry machine].

Thank you, that sounds very useful.

I remembered a very good series of stories about a former fighter who worked as a club bouncer and occasionally suffered from episodes of 'rage'. I was hoping to recommend it to the poster wanting stories about fighters. If the author used 'rage' in the description, I should be able to find it now.

I am not certain how to ask a question, so I hope I am not being too rude to ask here. I would like to see a revision to the sort order of author pages and search results.
The first page is sorted by date. Clicking to the next page changes the sort to alphabetical by title. It makes it more difficult to read series in order. Thank you for the attention, and if I am out of place asking here, please explain the proper way.

To post something to the forum:

1. Select which group you want for your post.

2. Just above the first post to the far right, there is a New Topic button. Click it to display the post template.

3. Fill in the Subject and Reply boxes and then click Post.

That is all there is to it.
