Sort Email Archive

REP ๐Ÿšซ

I'm not sure if this has been addressed in the past.

I wanted to refer to an earlier email but couldn't recall when I had received it. I had to review every page of my archived messages and in the end found out it was more than a year old and had been deleted.

I would like to have the ability to sort all received emails by sender's name. It would make finding an email received within the past year easier to find. It would also make determining if an email had been deleted easier. This is especially true for authors who receive a high number of emails.

@REP

My solution to this is to have the emails forwarded to my external author email account and archive them in folders by year. I never have to worry about them expiring on SOL (which I understand based on storage concerns).

Before everyone starts looking for a way to set a forward address:
Only for authors, I can't set a forward address as I'm not an author. I don't get that many messages but they disappear just the same after a year.

First submission only has to be 750 words. Surely you could manage that many.

Only if it's source code :)

I'm fairly sure it's not an authors only thing, though it may be a premier membership thing.

Account settings under notifications and messages:

https://storiesonline.net/sol-secure/user/my_account.php?cmd=altEmailPrefs

And you don't need to give it any email address, it will use the email address you use as your SOL log in id.

You're right. I can set it too (premium). I had searched for the setting but couldn't find it.

How is forwarding set up.

I found a means of doing that if you have a Kindle and Kindle Account, which I don't.

My Account

Messaging & Notifications - click on Change

The middle option set is Email copies of messages by email - this is so for Basic and Premier accounts as I checked on both my account and my son's account as he has a basic account.

I had Received messages checked. I did not do a detailed cross check, but it appears that some but not all messages were forwarded.
