'Story Count' on the Collections/Universes page

Michael Loucks ๐Ÿšซ

On the Collections/Universes page, the story count is inaccurate if a series as been added. For example, my A Well-Lived Life universe shows a story count of '3' (the series count) when it should be '22' (the story count).

Shouldn't the total number of stories reflect the sum of the number of stories in each series?

@Michael Loucks

No, the count is correct. You have to look at the hierarchical levels and where Michael listed the stories.

The A Well Lived Life Universe has three series listed in it of: A Well Lived Life with 10 stories in it, A Well Lived Life 2 with 10 stories listed in it, and Good Medicine with 2 stories listed in it.

The stories in each series does not count in the universe, but the series in the universe counts, as does the stories in the universe not part of the series listed.

No, the count is correct

Except it explicitly says 'story count', which makes it incorrect. There are not only 3 stories (or 0 as it showed when I just looked, another error). There are 3 series and 22 stories. The column title clearly says 'stories'.

It appears to be the way Lazeez's algorithm counts stories. The series story counts don't roll up to the universe.

You have 22 stories distributed across 3 series. Each series shows its story count. Your universe contains 3 series, but no stories at the universe level.

Your universe contains 3 series and no stories.

@REP

Your universe contains 3 series and no stories.

Which is accurate but misleading, as it appears to be empty on the Universe page.

Yes it should. Fixed.

Thank you VERY much. And as always, I am grateful for the speedy response!

Perhaps instead of a single "count" column having four "counts".

The first count would be the number of stories that are part of the universe but not a part of a collection within the universe.

The second count would be for the number of collections within the universe.

The third count would include the number of stories that are a part of a collection.

The fourth count would be the total of stories that are a part of the universe no matter if they belong to a collection within that universe or not.

In the case of AWLL Universe those 4 counts would be

0 | 3 | 22 | 22
