A suggestion and a possible bug

1. Suggestion - Have Sign In on the navigation menu always take the member to the Sign In menu.

When I have to manually sign in using the Sign In menu, I check the Remember Me option so I will be automatically logged in the next time I access SOL. For some reason, yesterday morning I was not automatically logged in. I had to manually click Sign In on navigation menu. That signed me in without going to the Sign In menu and the Remember Me option was not in effect. When I left the SOL site, I was logged out. This morning I accessed SOL and had to manually sign in again, which repeated the cycle. For SOL to remember me, I had to sign in and then sign out and then sign in again to get to the Sign In menu so I can select Remember Me.

2. Is this a bug?

I normally check Remember Me on the Sign In menu if I have to manually sign in so I will automatically signed in. I found that SOL had signed me out for some reason and canceled my Remember Me option - that may not be relevant to the apparent bug being described.

Yesterday I manually logged in and my browser settings and SOL font size settings resulted in a font size that was too small for me to easily read. I increased my font size to 20 pts. When I clicked Sign In today, the displayed font size was the original very small font (i.e. the 20 pts size was not restored). When I went to My Account to increase the font size, the Preferences, Listings section indicated the displayed font size was 20 pts, but what I saw was the very small text that was difficult to read. I clicked Bigger Text and the displayed text increased to 21 pts, which was much larger text. I clicked Smaller Text and the displayed text dropped to 20 pts and that was yesterday's large text that I could read. Evidently, my selection of 20 pts was stored with my preferences, but not applied to the screens when I logged in.

Your usage of menu and form interchangeably is confusing.

The confusing thing for most people when dealing with logging in on the internet is that you think the 'remember me' box is for the site, when it's not. logging in and staying logged in is really about your browser's handling of the site's cookies. If anything on your system deletes/messes with the site's cookies, then when you go back to the site, the site can't recognize you. It's not that the site forgot you, it's that your browser dumped the cookies that allow the site to recognize your browser.

There isn't much that I can do here.

Evidently, my selection of 20 pts was stored with my preferences, but not applied to the screens when I logged in.

There is a bug in the handling of stored settings especially when an account has multiple profiles.

I'm working to fix that one.

Thanks

I'm not sure what I may have done that would affect the site's cookie other than changing point size.

If the browser has had a recent update it may have altered the setting about clearing cookies. Also, if you're using a browser in Private Use mode it usually clears all cookies when it closes.

@Ernest Bywater

I cleared my cache, reset Remember Me, and it appears to be working correctly.
