Why do we need to see bestiality? That's not cool.
Don't like it either, but some people do. Best thing to do is read the story codes first and pass on stories that list it.
Why would you need to see it.?
I've not checked every story but I doubt there is s story on this site that includes bestiality and is not coded accordingly.
So simply check the codes before reading the story.
Personally I have a few codes on my exclusion list, it works perfectly.
The only place it does not work, as far as I'm aware, is the main page 'stream'. So when browsing the stories in the stream, simply check the codes.
Of course you might be objecting to having to see the codes. Simple solution is to go here.
So, you really don't need to see it, or any other kink, practise, pairing, etc that squicks you.
What really isn't cool is the desire to delete things you don't like, regardless of the views of others. There are 42,954 Stories Available on this site, of them only 1032 contain bestiality. Not exactly a significant percentage.
So, check the story codes and happy reading.
When I get fed up with writers producing stories about people doing things to each other that I consider despicable, immoral or just plain wrong. I just quit watching the nightly news.
I feel the same way about D/s, SM, etc... With a premier membership I can just filter them, and authors who specialize in those genres, out of my search results, new stories and most other areas. And the money helps keep the site online.
Can we filter out the bestiality?
Yes.

No - category preferences do not work on the main page, basically because it is (was?) cached so has to be the same for all authors. That rather defeats the purpose of Category exclusion / Author exclusion. Even the Random Blast From the Past ignores exclusions.
The way to do it would be to jump directly to the New Stories or Update pages while taking in Blogs, the way we used to do things.

Or just read the story codes..!!
I'm assuming killerwhale does not even want to see the Descriptions of the various stories, he wants them filtered out right from the very start - as they can be in the New Stories or Updated Serials pages.
zellus makes the same assumption, he showed the link on how to do it, but as I said, it does not work for the main page.
Agreed, except your "taking in blogs" would have no guarantee because there is no way to be certain what a blog contains without reading it. So it could well contain references to a story etc
I do wonder if the OP's sensibilities are so offended by the mere code, if sticking to fine stories wouldn't be a safer route.?
That way there is no risk of seeing the word Bestiality, let alone a graphic description of a man/gerbil encounter.
Oh dear, now the OP will be offended by this.....
let alone a graphic description of a man/gerbil encounter.
That's a new one for me, although I vaguely recall a story containing a graphic description of a woman/gerbil encounter :(

Now, that's a problem, because gerbils are rarely above 14โฆ
And it was non-consensual :(

Even the Random Blast From the Past ignores exclusions.
Not true.
If you look to the right of "Random story from the archives" you will see the the link for more random stories.
Click the "More" link. This brings up the "Randomly selected stories" page
Look to the right of"Randomly selected stories". Click the "Preferences" link.
This brings up the "Home Page Random Story Display Preferences"
The first option allows you to apply "Apply Category Exclusions".
As stated "This function allows you to set restrictions on the stories displayed by the random story display on the home page"
