When I view my Archive Box and filter them by non-Author or myself, the view switches back to my Inbox. When I return to the Archive box, nothing has changed.

Yep, it's a bug. Actually, it's not a bug, it's a giant oversight. I didn't even implement filtering for the archive.
Coming soon!
Alright, I had to restructure things quite a bit, but I think I got it right this time.
Check it out and let me know if it works as expected for you.
I didn't do a full test of the function before initially reporting what I observed. There are still problems that may have been there before, rather than an effect of your fix.
1. With All, Non Authors, and my (pen name) selected as the filter, clicking on any of the pages (2-X) switches me back to the Inbox.
2. I'm not sure what filtering on Non Authors is supposed to do, but when I use it, I get a listing of messages from you and other authors. Not sure what subsequent pages show due to 1 above.
3. Filtering on my pen name, gives me a listing of messages sent to me by non-authors. I expected it to display messages I sent. Not sure what subsequent pages show due to 1 above.
ETA: The Sent box list all of messages I've sent. There is no Archive or Filter function. I seem to recall the box had those functions before, but that may be an intentional change. Clicking another page sends me back to the Inbox. Probably same as 1 above.
ETA 2: My Inbox is empty so I couldn't test its functions.
1 - Fixed.
2 & 3 - You have your nick name and Pen name the same, so you don't see a difference although there is.
if you had a nickname 'a' and two pen names 'b' and 'c',and you select 'non author' you get messages sent directly to you as a user and it will say messages for 'a'.
To avoid confusion, I guess I should remove the filtering menu when an author has one pen name and using the same pen name as nick name.
The sent box had (and still has) no filtering and it never had an archiving button.
Thanks for the bug report.
