Comments Double Posting

Lumpy ๐Ÿšซ

I replied to a comment and it posted it twice (I swear I didn't double click). And there seems to be no way to delete a comment.

It certainly happens in the forums, and AFAICT it happens when my browser (Firefox) is suffering performance loss (sluggish response) when I have a lot of tabs and windows open; that would be a Firefox problem that could only be dealt with by either a delete option or Lazeez looking at successive comments/postings and discarding any repeats.

Another time I've had 'two for the price of one' clicks was when the wired mouse I was using had developed an intermittent break in the cable so movement could cause an unwanted release-reclick; the above would fix that too.

The actual problem is there is no way to remove the double post...

For now just send Lazeez a note mentioning the double posting while giving him both the story the comment was made on and the duplicated text.

I think a future update to this might allow for comments to be edited and/or deleted prior to a response being made to that particular comment. If a comment was changed while a response to it was being made then it might be good to check the new version of the original comment before it was posted.

He doesn't. He's referring to the 'Story Comment' option for selected stories offering that option. It's been an issue ever since it was first implemented. Though the 'delayed computer response' has also been an issue on Forum posts. One time, before my computer finally recovered, I had over 40 duplicate messages I had to delete, one by one. Grrr!
