If you had thought to check the forums while that was actually going on (which was a few months ago now), you would have known what was happening, and why.
You would also know that going into your account, and under the Preferences section Access Level, click on "Change" and you can set it to Full Access instead of Filtered.
If authors choose to pull their stories from the site, then that's something to take up with the author.

Because that's how capitalism works. You pays your money, you takes your choice. If you don't like what's on offer, don't pay for it. It really is that simple.
No one is forcing you to pay for anything, bud. There's a free version of the site; use that. Get your kicks for free - you just won't get as many of them.
Or you can bugger off somewhere else and get your kicks for free, but your hard drive will be riddled with spyware, malware, and God knows what else.
I would also add, why should we authors provide *you* with "entertainment" in the form of our words, for free, when you come across as such an entitled, ungrateful piece of shit?
The answer, of course, is that here at SOL in particular, there are enough decent, grateful people who appreciate what we do enough to go and buy a copy from ZBookStore to make dealing with ungrateful shits worthwhile.
World Literature Publishing Co. (WLPC) is a business owned and run by Lazeez Jiddan. StoriesOnLine (SOL) is part of WLPC. You chose to log into SOL and create an account. I suspect it is a free account and it costs you nothing to read a portion of the stories on SOL.
If you are not happy with what you get for free, then you have a choice – pay for a premier account or stop visiting SOL. Creating a premier account will give you access to all of the stories that are behind the pay wall. If you have an issue with the content of the stories or changes made to that content, take it up with the author. If an author pulls one or more of their stories, again, take it up with the author.
The laws enacted by the governments of this planet, place limits on the literature distributed with their countries' borders. There are certain laws that affect the stories Lazeez can allow an author to post on SOL. Creating an environment that can function within the limits of the laws applicable to SOL is Lazeez job. Writing stories is not his job.
So learn who is responsible for the different aspects of SOL before you start blaming someone for something you don't like.
Better yet, SOL's management and members are not here to please you. If you are unhappy with the way SOL functions, go elsewhere to read stories.
