Not really a bug, but I figured it would get noticed here. I propose that a new forum be implemented. There seems to be a lot of requests for info about missing authors. Sometimes the same ones, repeatedly. Cantrell springs to mind. These show up in list stories, story discussion, and Author feedback. Sometimes other places, as well.
So, a forum labeled missing authors, or something similar, could maybe focus those postings and even give the hint to people to look there before posting.

What you are asking for sounds like a feature request to me.
You do know there is a site specifically for what you requested? ReaderInfo lists what we know of missing authors. If a specific author is not listed you can request that research is started to add a page for that author.

Will the researchers ask here on the forum? Quite a few of the replies to 'missing author' posts are unsubstantiated personal anecdotes which aren't eligible for inclusion on the ReaderInfo site.

I understand and I USE the reader info page. However, think. How many times in the last year has someone asked about Cantrell, or Tefler, or Refusenik. Constantly. I am not going to campaign vigorously for this. I just thought that it would be a good idea to isolate all these questions to one area. If no one supports it, I'll just go 'Oh, well' and let it drop.
I think it is a good idea. I am at the receiving end of requests for adding Contributor Pages for missing authors to ReaderInfo. So far this year, IIRC there have been 3 requests for a CP. One of those requests was for a CP for an author who pulled his stories and left SOL.

I first thought you meant to have a forum that basically is what ReaderInfo already offers but consolidating the questions is a good idea.
