I frequently need to come back to a message, sometimes only a few days after I've read them, sometimes a week or two.
However I find it hard to remember which messages I need to revisit. How hard would it be for perhaps as a premier feature to have a flag sub-system within the mail system?

You can now 'star' a message and view only starred messages.
Also, each message can have a note. In the message display there is now a new icon to the left in the same row as 'Reply Archive Delete...'.
Clicking this new icon show a box asking for up to 64 characters of text.
Any note you enter will be shown next to this new icon and shown also in the message list.
The stars only work in the inbox, not in archives and definitely not in sent. Same for the notes in listings.
Need some css tweaks to have the star next to the select box instead of bellow.

They do line up vertically one above the other, doubling the table row height. Setting fic in % instead of em solve it, removing the boxing model on input solve it too but neither seems a good way to do it.
max-width set to 30px it's obvious you intended to line them up vertically. I just dislike the whitepsace, you can ignore me.
