Instead of time traveling back to the time of George Washington ... If George Washington showed up in the 21st Century, what would he think? Slavery has been abolished (Washington owned slaves). Women can vote (and, my, how they talk and dress). One thing he'll appreciate is that his favorite restaurant is still open in his hometown (Alexandria is where Washington went when he went "to town." They (Ashby's Tavern) still serve his favorite roast duck, but the restaurant is now in a different building (next door to where it was when Washington went there). What would he think of the current president (and the one immediately preceding?), of Congress, of the Supreme Court, of all the government departments (There were only 4 when Washington was president.) What would he think of the U.S. military? What would he think?
